How to do diecast.

You buy this for £1.

attachicon.gifIMG_20180921_123634.jpg

You wash it.

attachicon.gifIMG_20180921_124230.jpg

You paint the wheels.

attachicon.gifIMG_20180921_125139.jpg

You try removing scratches with G3 to limited effect.

attachicon.gifIMG_20180921_125837.jpg

You realise you never wanted it anyway and offer it for cost of postage on here (£3.00).

attachicon.gifIMG_20180921_130623.jpg

I'd certainly have this A-Series, if you're looking to move it on!

I had a similar one as a kid; something fell on it > Luton box got broken > sharp bits > BIN by worried parents.

This one looks nicely used without being knackered; I don't remember mine having the Avis stickers left so it's even better.

Paypal deets as before?

Lulz at the Tonka Car Carrier in Great Yarmouth model village- I suppose the vehicles consisted of what large scale stuff was available off the shelf at the time. Interesting looking Semi to the left and the Triang Routemaster has somehow escaped being painted blue and cream to represent a local bus.

Heh, I remember taking a turn through Great Yarmouth Model Village in 1996 - took a few photos of the minishite therein, of widely varying scales and eras!

That was the Avis verion of the A series. I had it in Basset's livery. Anyhow, I now have a rather nice Fraud Transhit campervan in my collection, from the French Camping Cars series, it's a Ci Autohomes coachbuilt mk1, and it has the pignose, and strangely 2 exhaust pipes, so the 3.0 Essex lump represented? Not a fan of the black & silver plates on it, but an easy swap

to commiserate at breaking the Rover, i've bought some plastic tat to go with the existing diecast cars.

yes! the little man having a poo the skiing to go with it cos it was the Ski Club car.

and then, flushed with my success i got a milk-man to go with the Commer Milk Float

both are, i belive the original figures that were supplied with some/all of these back when they were new.

now some may also remember the Bedford Car Transporter Egg had on here, last post said that a small package from Steve Flowers had arrived, i had tried the bits on just to see what they were lke, leaving the wagon looking like this

well today it come to bits again today

post-18270-0-62509800-1537546292_thumb.jpg

i've decided that the best way to deal with a big wagon like this is to do it in phases, first off the tractor and back panel, then the top deck and then the lower deck. so, today it seems that this happened.

so the paint fell off,

So I found another Tomica retailer yesterday, apologies for the amount of pictures in advance! Still no sighting of number 51 the Toyota Crown taxi though. Each window box pulls out on a draw and supposedly the models are behind - can be a bit hit and miss however. Scales vary widely too. Despite my (broken) self imposed ban, I may have picked up some FJ cruisers...

Have a bonus shonky video too:

Would anyone be interested in any of these(apart from the Ford Puma)?.Ebay seller says they're 1/64,but I reckon they might be a bit smaller.I was thinking of buying them & selling the rest on,they wouldn't be very expensive :-)

CPU2S3B.jpg

Think all these Cararama are 1/72 scale - nice wee models, I have the red Puma myself.

What's the silver one in the very middle, out of interest? Some sort of septic?

I'd be interested in the Dodge Intrepid. I also want a Puma so if you change your mind...

It's a very nice model, tempted to have it in bits and fit 'curtains'. It's got a reasonable interior with a silvered 2 ring cooker, only the cab is diecast, everything else is placcy, the sklirts on the rear all all separate pieces as well surprisingly

and Kerry has been buying some diecast too, it seems my naughty habits are brushing off on her.

now i know there isn't much love on here for Hardly Dangerous (Harley Davidson) motorcycles, but to Kerry the only real motor bike is a Harley. Myself i think only Trumphs (Triumph) or Bits Scraps an Allsorts (BSA) count, but each to their own. BUT this model is such a fine detailled thing i thought the collective would enjoy it anyway.

its got a soft feel seat, moveing clutch and brake levers, clutch change rods move, the plug leads and clutch and brake lines are present and its got full suspension. The model is a Harley Fat Bob, as ridden by Arnie in Terminator 2.

it was one of a series issued through the dealerships. well i like it!

I won't show my latest arrival, as it is a gift for someone, I also got a DePrado Mini as well, base says 1970 Cooper, but it looks more like a 1980s Mini to me, and it is right hand drive, but has no left hand side front window. Weird

I picked a few 50p specials at a car show in Otley a few weeks ago.

post-5414-0-98062700-1537815017_thumb.jpg

Stripped the paint off the Landy. Then I made a luggage rack out of cable ties, cocktail sticks and other crud I had laying about.

post-5414-0-06886800-1537815065_thumb.jpg

I tied a bit of cotton around to look like rope. I'm not sure if the Fiat needs painting I quite like it the way it is.

post-5414-0-98076100-1537815119_thumb.jpg

Then if that wasn't sad enough. I made a trailer out of scrap plastic & bits and bobs. Then I painted the Landy In Wilkos finest cheapo paint.

I have more geeky tales on the Victor Estates.  :-D
