I've got one of those! 1:18; bought it in Trago Mills for something daft like £6. No steering or opening side doors, just bonnet and boot.

Weird model. But really nice. Mine has an ironic Max Power sticker on the rear screen.

Is it really 1:18?

I've heard rumors that it's too small, more like 1:20 or thereabouts.

I've heard rumors that it's too small, more like 1:20 or thereabouts.

I suspect those rumours to be correct. It's proportionally lovely but does seem rather diminutive. Weirdly my Solido DS is probably 1:17.5 or something. Solido seemed to do strange things like that. I have one of their Jeep Grand Cherokees which is about 1:19.3.

The XM model comes in a Citroen branded box and the glazing is bare. It ships with a foil sheet with adhesive decals for the pillar mouldings, and a separate wet transfer sheet for the badges. I love it, though I tried to super-detail the wheels with a black permanent marker. I was about 15 and did a pretty hopeless job of it.

Posted

Brilliant, hope this one still has the decals left off. I have some boxed Bburagos like that too.

Bought a massive haul of tat at a couple of toy fairs. Will photograph tonight, with Setright ticket machine.

This has obviously not been forthcoming.

I must protest.

4 swapsies tonight.

Ah, the famed Yellow Wheel period of Bburago. Glorious.

DUGONG, WHERE U AT?

Posted

The 14 could be had with yellow or silver wheels. I think the silver wheeled ones had better paint and detail. There were often 2 versions of the same model, high and low end.

DUGONG, WHERE U AT?

I was sorting things out and having a massive online reshuffle.

Here's my wee stash. I had to have the beige Chaika even though it was missing an A-pillar.

Choosing a favourite's difficult.

The Spot-On Amazon's had its bumpers repainted - but I reckon the Budgie Scarab edges it.

Posted

I've git that Scarab but with a canvas tilt. Hopefully the Chaika isn't suffering from the zinc pest that about 50% of these models seem to.

Yummy. Breakfast Porn. I have the Nash Rambler station wagon, sans tyres (obvz) and with a bizarrely broken windscreen that looks like it's melted. Mine is a kind of salmon and silver two-tone.

I rather like the barn-find MGB GT...

Posted

I have the Nash and the bizarrely un-named 'Farm Car'. Both painted yellow by my dad in the 50s or 60s by what wad probably paint from the shipyard that my Grandpa brought back.

Posted

I have just acquired an identical Dinky Plymouth estate (27F). Mine has black tyres though.

Posted

Black tyres are correct.

Dugong's came without any and I donated the white ones.

I see a white Norev Opel Rekord suspiciously missing.

I have been asked to catalogue and dispose of this collection and there are further 350 boxed in the loft! Mostly 1.87 and a few 1.76. A busy weekend for me.

350 old Wikings?

That could be the downpayment on a house!

Not all Wikings, there are lots of Roco,Brekina and others.

I have just found this though!  Prameta Mercedes 300 not in the best condition.

All nice and everything...but I think I'm going to stick with 1:18 in the future. Unless another Poundland special occurs....

extra shite point for the added on "door handles" on the renner

Posted

I've done a bit of 'shite restoring' on my partwork Lada plod that was bubbling paint wise, now has a suitable 1970's shite look. Sadly my cam doesn't quite pick up the jade green properly, and yest that is a scratch in the back window, which was like that when i got it. And its now on display at Shiter's R Us.

Yep. Completely inexplicable.

Thought someone might be interested in these models I want to sell.

Schabak VW Golf MK2. A few very minor paint chips and a chip on the front bumper. Also a defect on the bonnet which is a lump as seen in the picture. This model can be taken apart so was going to sort all that and hopefully repaint it but doubt I get round to it tbh.

£12 inc postage.

Oxford mixed selection of new 1.76 scale vehicles as pictured all in matt white ready to be repainted to your spec.  Brought 2 sets to get the four I wanted at £10 each.

So was thinking £10 inc postage for the lot.

Both items unboxed.

May have some more various models to sell as having a clear out of ones I don't need / want to help the old wallet as no work at the min. :-(

Bought these at a autojumble last sunday.

This Dinky truck was supposedly made between 1945-47

Very playworn, but still retains it's original paint.

My favourite find so far :-D

Awesome find, I would be very happy to turn that up....I would say it dates towards the end of the 1948-50 period.   That Studebaker tank wagon is nice too.

Think I've got the grey drop side version of the truck, and that transit is one of my favourite all time models,I must get one!

I've got one of those and that one is not very play worn at all. My dad hacksawed the sides and back off his and in the intervening 60 years me,my three brothers and a few cousins have painted it with everything from Humbrol enamel to nail varnish,it's in a box in the shed with all the Dinkys from my late Grandmas house. Every time I get them out to do something with them I get misty eyed about the memory of playing (abusing) them then don't want to mess with them.

I've got a display case full of shiny immaculate models ,but that ropey old box of battered Dinkys in the shed is worth more to me.
