Skizzer Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Bloody hell! I thought that VW was the real thing at first. Hmm, maybe I should set up on eBay as '4starClassicCars' and put it up for £25k
Felly Magic Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 I'd love to see one of those Sooty truck kits built, but I understand if you leave em sealed up, rocking horse shizzle springs to mind
Junkman Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 No, I will build a few of those. They are neither rare, nor overly expensive.

Mr Lobster Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Hey 'shiters, forgive the blatant self promotion but anyone interested in seeing the Vanguards July - December releases? eddyramrod, Banger Kenny and dugong 3
eddyramrod Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Only if Corgi have abandoned their VAG-level pricing structure! Or seriously, yes please! Banger Kenny 1
Mr Lobster Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Only if Corgi have abandoned their VAG-level pricing structure! Personally I don't think Corgi are expensive - prices have gone up a bit but nothing like Minichamps etc and relative to pretty much everything else other than some partwork stuff they are very good value. Anyway, shiters discount is always available So anyway, new from July - December includes - Vauxhall Carlton, Mk3 Capri, Mk2 Astras, Mk2 Golf C, Morris Oxford VI, Rover SD1 Vitesse, Mini Clubman, Vauxhall Cavalier Mk3, Mk3 Ford Cortina and a few more besides. I was going to just C+P the list but it went a bit odd so you'll have to have a look for yourself - http://www.lobsterdiecast.co.uk/news.cfm?artid=139 Autoshite racing beige Golf Jim Bergerac, DVee8, eddyramrod and 1 other 4

TagoraSX Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 What's the going rate for Minichamps models still in their boxes? I found a load of them in the loft last week, mostly Audi and Porsche motorsport. dugong and eddyramrod 2

I found a load of them in the loft last week, mostly Audi and Porsche motorsport. Very much depends on what they are really. Minichamps Ford RS stuff carries a massive scene tax as ever but have a look at ebay to get an idea what they are worth. Partridge 1

RedSparrow Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 Just come across this on ebay - it appears there was another magazine series in the eastern bloc that had motors from other countries. Lets hope they surface in Poundland etc. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Freepost-Lot-of-7-1-43-IXO-Ist-Volga-Wolga-Latvia-Oltcit-Lada-2107-FSO-Polonez-/291108527454 This bloke has some crazy ideas about their value though. eddyramrod 1
Partridge Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 ??? Eh?I've lost faith in Vanguards...the real castings never look as good as the renderings now

tooSavvy Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 I haz dropped parking meter money on this...... £3.99 @ TK Maxx. Is it something we don't see much of?... I have never ever seen a KG model. ...or are these just 'cheep knokkoffs' from 'en chine'. I like the povvo blue... sort of what you expect on a beetle . It has 'pull back - let it go' drive and says 'WELLY' on the plastic chassis. ... just sort of looked so forlorn on the rummage shelf.... waiting for some kid to WELLY it into skirting boards and rive the doors off. SAVED!! TS
Mr Lobster Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Karmann Ghia models are fairly rare, Welly do that one and a 1/18 though. The Welly catalogue is massive and has allsorts of stuff in that would turn the shiter on - Kia's from Pride to Ceed, Hyundais and all sorts of other tat but the Welly import and distribution setup in Europe is complicated to say the least so much of it doesn't come over to this side of the world. Pity. I reckon we could sell fuckloads of it tooSavvy 1
Junkman Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 I can haz Welly shite, too! Generally not bad at all, but has one of my pet hates - headlight lenses attached by means of a stalk in the centre: So I did one of Junkman's phamous Phrench headlight modifications with this. Step 1 - dismantle the model. The headlight reflectors and lenses are heat riveted to the bodyshell: So step 2 is to carefully scrape away the excess plastic, and the headlights fall right out: Step 3 is to cut off the stalks from the lenses, and polish them: There will always be a mark left, but it is hardly visible once everything is back together. Step 4 is to simulate yellow headlamps with small beads and clothes pins, like so: The glue used is Tamiya Clear, and it will be invisible once dried, so no worries about the excessive amount used and the bubbling.Tamiya Clear is also used to glue the lenses to the reflectors, and the reflectors back to the car in step 5: Voila! I'm going to pimp the interior a bit in the distant future.I have a second one stacked away for a more involved modification - a Pick Up. Skizzer, morris_ital_lover, Ratdat and 7 others 10
