With a bit of work it could look very good, lights painted in etc

Yeah, comparing it to the black Hot Wheels F&F E34, it does stand up really well, considering the 30-odd years between them. And the Matchbox has opening doors...

Last one from the bunglebox was this,

IMG_20231105_214311.thumb.jpg.2e394acc4c114225d1b65245d25dec24.jpg

Don't really know what I'm going to do with it, as I've not had anything in this scale for donkeys years. But it's a Merc...

IMG_20231105_214324.thumb.jpg.a051956def61f52aca79b12ca451f96d.jpg

Again, like the vast majority of older diecasts I've bought from the good folk on here, it's for a combination of nostalgia and/or  one I wanted at the time but missed out on. I loved my Polistil and Burago 1/24 ish cars. I had the red 190E (that had a lot to answer for in later years...) but never got the SEC , although I did have it's near rival, the BMW 635 CSi which was a lovely thing. This one, bodywise is immaculate, practically perfect.

IMG_20231105_214334.thumb.jpg.fd32e0cc7d688b5d1e1c2c3fdd13fa55.jpg

Only things that spoil it really are the missing rear light section (same section actually came loose on my old 635 too)

IMG_20231105_214408.thumb.jpg.fcfb9b19bff1a22e3974786d8dff2fd3.jpg

And the seat backrests. There is a slightly shabby one of these on eBay for about £4 with intact rear lights and tan interior. I may get it as a donor and mint this one up. The condition of the bodywork makes it worthwhile I think.

Excellent work on the Bburago SEC find. That's one still on my ' never had as a kid but wanted one' list. I do have a 190 and a very lovely 500 SEL Saloon which came all the way from New Zealand courtesy of @Jon. The latter is from the early 1/24 series of Bburagos when almost everything opened and they were an absolute joy.

I would give you more than £2 for that Rover

OK how much would you give? It has no front bumper/grill or rear bumper and quite a lot of paint loss. I really want one of these and annoyingly I turned down a mint one for £20 at a toy fair and since then I've bid more than that on ebay and been out bid haha!

I thought I'd put the grill/bumper etc from a Golden Jacks version on it even though it shouldn't have jewelled headlamps.

I'd give you profit on one of the Jensens and the Triumph 2000 right away, so you did well there.

I'm not sure yet what I'm doing on those as I am thinking of doing one Jensen yellow again and the other a more realistic colour.

The Triumph is quite nice and I do have another one in a different colour, but with a broken screen so again not sure if I'll keep it or not. Anyway I'll give you first refusal on those if I don't keep them.

I did think you'd want the Dinky Rolls for £2, shows I have no idea!

However, it's a slightly earlier issue so I can compare box variations. How sexy is that?

Anyway, I won't apologise for that. The Flavia Zagato model is what first intrigued me about Italian diecast from the '60s, and it took me years to actually get one, so adding a second feels like a totally normal thing to do. Particularly at such a bargain price.

I hope you're happy with it, I enjoyed the fun and thrill of the chase without the risk!

After seeing the recent Dukes of Hazzard thread ( https://autoshite.com/topic/55938-dukes-of-hazzard/page/3/#comment-2874686) and having never seen any episode I downloaded and binge watched the first series, now I've been looking for another Matchbox King Size Charger, but failed to get one for reasonable money.

Today I was at the Ardingly Antiques fair and spotted quite a lot of interesting looking die cast around the place, but we were really there to try and get some furniture for a friend and by the time I had a chance to look, most was packed away. There was a really nicely presented stall in one of the buildings which had some great boxed Dinky & Corgi that I didn't bother looking at the price for as while looking at the loose stuff I noticed a Corgi Land Rover breakdown missing the crane jib and hard top for £15 and a Corgi Morris Mini badly repainted by hand for £10 so knew they'd be out of range!

I did pick this no name Charger and a Majorette trailer for £2.80 for both

IMG_8088.thumb.JPG.9b66287187f3c394d3b7fe6cd69c8ab5.JPG

No tyres on the Charger, but look like Dinky ones should fit, shame I only have 3...

Any ideas what the trailer is from?

IMG_8089.thumb.JPG.78a92d57482f70f687b3079d51e80285.JPG

Missing rear bumper and I thought it should have a light panel

IMG_8090.thumb.JPG.da1227afb1b3a6be644e21557e80194f.JPG

I found a much better one on ebay and it looks like the back is just missing bumper and the louvred window

s-l1600.jpg

https://www.ebay.com/itm/394098009691

Scale is 1/48 according to the base

IMG_8091.thumb.JPG.f34553c78ae9d55108b541c74d2de04f.JPG

A fair bit smaller than the Matchbox one

IMG_8092.thumb.JPG.678fa74944d383f91a909bfcbc234fda.JPG

I thought I'd repaint it, but actually it's a great livery as it is...

IMG_8093.thumb.JPG.2a411ab220fd30f126d16874f23b3796.JPG

Edit; so I'm still looking/hoping for a Matchbox charger to paint up!

Rolls: you have more idea than you think!  I just didn't want to be greedy.  If it's going to be available then yes, put it in my box please!  Is it complete?

I think the Rolls is missing bumpers and one seat back and as you can see the radiator grill is holed. I think the glazing is ok, but one bonnet side is a blue/silver replacement. I'll have a proper look at it when I get a chance. I had already put it in your box.

Soz, but I'm defo keeping the Victor! That was one I'd already been hankering after!

Obviously this is off at a tangent, but today I saw a Land Rover forward control, no pics as I was driving, but reminded me I had a Matchbox one as a kid.

Thank you!  I think most parts are available for the Rolls, and it'll be getting stripped and painted anyway, so it's ideal.  I understand about the Victor, no problem there.

The eBay Charger you linked is marked as an MC Toys on the base - not normally known for larger scale stuff but there was some collaboration between manufacturers that saw them sold as MC...and Zylmex/Zee Toys - which is what mine says on it

My other one has the blank circle like yours

White one is also lacking the rear bumper, neither have a rear light panel - I think they just didn't have any originally

If you're looking for a smaller scale Charger to add to your collection, @FakeConcern, I can recommend this c. 1/64-ish no-name effort:

 50325420781_9dd6494ab9_h.jpg

Mine's packed away somewhere at the moment, so I can't remember who's attributed to making it but I'm sure someone on here will know for sure.

50324751593_34ec23e480_h.jpg

Hope you don't mind me gratuitously adding some images from previous posts, as I suddenly remembered today that I still have a Flickr Pro account, essentially to house the images from my posts on here, plus my spotted and fleet threads; these latter two, I've let go fallow due to severe disinterest on both mine and others' parts! Might be time to think about knocking Flickr on the head and posting images directly here, to keep more small tat funds in the kitty...

50324751368_48561c725e_h.jpg

As you can see, the casting of this one is not great but one would be ideal for a repaint, perhaps keeping the flashing intact and painting it up as corrosion.

50325593772_c8c2ba33aa_h.jpg

I've got a bunch of these excellent backdrops saved for further scene creations but I need to find both the time and more importantly, the enthusiasm to make any more. I still need to find a better solution to the surfaces to place the subject on, as well as light control and loads of other technical aspects. But I won't get better without further practice.

50325419841_9a7d44ec0a_h.jpg

One final thing: the dished spoked wheels on this Charger work really well. I'm sure a repainted one of these would look great. But I had one of these as a kid and loved it, so this one will be staying as is.

And here's some images of stuff I shot before selling on to others here:

I think this Tomica Nissan truck went to @eddyramrod.

49656878052_df031955be_c.jpg

And if memory serves, these went to @sierraman, for use in his wardrobe-based scrap yard.

48685566141_44cbcc78f4_h.jpg

The '1 of 100' Jago liveried Corgi Escort sent to @andrew e, mentioned the other day on here.

50121116346_459c078316_h.jpg

He also bagged this Corgi SL, to add to his collection of several others, since he likes the casting so much! It is a lovely colour, in fairness.

50994496346_dab47ab929_h.jpg

And a couple that went @Split_Pin's way. Inspiration for the Sintra's exotic backdrop reflects the locations chosen to launch otherwise dull cars,  in the hopes of exciting car journos and pepping up their reports. Who knows if that ploy actually works...

And finally, the Bburago Mercedes SEL mentioned up-thread:

50656510402_6a61d6b02c_b.jpg

'Despot disposing of the evidence' spec.

Crikey that brings back memories! I had a set as a kid with a red Jeep, a trailer and that white Charger. Being a big fan of DoH, I coveted the Charger but for some reason it went missing, probably stolen by one of the horrible kids I thought was my friend at the time. The Jeep could still be in my parents loft somewhere but the last time I saw it, it was in a very bad state.

I like the little Charger in your pics, but for the while I'm trying to stick to Corgi/Dinky friendly 1/43 ish scale which is why I'd like another King Size Charger.

Also thanks @bunglebus for the info and pics on the no name Macau Charger.

The only Chargers that had a flush window at the rear were the Charger 500.

The 500 had a different grill and lamp set up to the regular Charger. The reason for the flush rear window was when tested for NASCAR the recessed window caused lift. The front  end was changed because the stock front end caused drag.

It’s not a GM colour, but I think it suits the shape and age of the coke bottle styling cars.

Yes please, thanks! May be several weeks before I can visit a Smyths.

Saw the HW Nissan 5-pack set in Tesco the other day for £8.80 Clubcard price, but I already have one of them.

Still no sign of HWs in my local Aldi.
