Just been speaking to the butcher in my village (that's his actual job  - he's not a hitman for the mob) who said that the gritter has been past his shop early every morning this week.......except today.

You live between the council's wagon depot and the council's grit depot?

There truly was some shoddy driving on there today, present company excepted.

Drove up towards the white rose center today to drop off the other half, as she abandoned her car in the works car park. Chrysler 300c ditched with the rear bumper missing on the dual carriage way, whoops.  Fair few cars just abandoned on that stretch, it must have been really bad around there yesterday.

Had quite a bit of snow in Derby on Sunday, which is unusual. I'd been to check in on the old man with the Sprinter so couldn't resist a quick play in the white stuff while I was out

Later I got tasked by the local 4x4Response with taking a few doctors and nurses into work as the busses were off and taxis all incapable of moving, no rear seats in the sprinter though so I used the classic. Typical Land Rover fashiom the windscreen washers packed in so I had to rig the front washerjets to the rear washer motor. Need to fix that before the MOT next month.

So instead I trundled to the Aldi to get some veg for some stuff I'm meant to be making in the 107.

Gloriously oversteered on to the car park, and off the car park, and on to my drive way. I give it a 4 hotdogs out of 10 squatters.

I once read of an Elise being used as a winter weapon of choice. The combination of ultra low weight & proper winter/snow tyres apparently made it unbeatable? Inspired, but unconvinced, I put a set of Hankook Icebears onto an 850kg Scirocco & I haven't looked back. It really will go anywhere. Deep snow or compacted ice on back streets, it just drives, steers & stops.

Maybe I imagined it then. Happens a lot usually about shite cars.

Im in West Midlands 4x4 response

Ahh, nice! Perhaps are paths may cross one day :) Assume you use the D3 for 4x4Response?

I don't get to go out as much as I'd like these days but try to make an effort when there is a desperate/worthy need, like the other night running NHS staff in for shifts.

Yeah the D3 is main workhorse but I have the D1 off-roader as a road legal back up if the white stuff gets too thick.
