And the boss of the liquor store nxt door arrived in this when i came back from my sunrise coffee this morning.... fotorabia Posted April 5, 2013 Author Share Posted April 5, 2013 My final drive in the merc the day before i sold it meant I had a mission to accomplish...to go back to the Ballarat yard of classic shite dreams...it was supposed to be a 300kms round trip...but getting lost..road closures..driving down vanishing point farm roads...having to take to the verge to avoid massive wheat trucks...meant that i actually didnt get there until 5.30 pm...but i got what i wanted..the Mk3 Cortina TC 4.1 rear window Louvre...old Kelly supplied me with the knife and screwdriver and i gently prised it of with the 2 inches of bush dust to work thru....$25....then neatly packaged in egg cartons and taken as special fragile luggage to be sold here hopefully for a tidy sum.... and funnily..after i had left the yard...i pulled over to take a photo of an empty farmhouse..and i ditched the Merc..i just stood beside and laughed..one wave brought two farm utes to my rescue and pulled me out..they we're very obliging to a stupid tourist.... and at an op-shop in Ballarat..i found a Lost in Berlin t-shirt which is historically correct..so i did this self portrait minutes before i sold Manfred to an elderly Lebanese gentleman...the sale translated thru his son...i got $500 plus $150 refund on the rego...and i had a great time with it...the PTSD making me cry n sing in it on my final journey..but hey..its only a car i can replace when i return.. and these were my final street spots before i flew away..
