For Sale - Alfa 166 Super Lusso 3.0 6 Speed Manual - £750

I thought I'd fling up an advert here for my 166 if anyone's interested? I'm in Ayrshire Scotland got 108k on it, it's taxed until the End of December 2011 and Mot'd until June 2012.

I got this a couple of months ago as I always fancied a v6 Alfa and this came up locally when I had coin in hand and I now fancy a go in something else. Quite a lot of Super Lussos are Auto's but this one has the 6 speed manual box, which makes it the utim9 166 (other than the later 3.2).

The Super Lusso bit also means you get a mega spec of red electric leather, electric windows, traction control, mirrors, central locking, cd multi changer, climate control and even sat nav, which actually works. The little TV thingy seems to always give up on these but it works perfectly on this.

It goes like absolute stink and sounds fantastic especially past 4000 rpm. Having spent the last few years of my life driving miserable if not quite powerful turdo dizzlers it's great to drive a proper N/A fast petrol motor. It's also got mega brembo calipers on the front so it can get rid of the speed as well as it can put it on.

It's not all great though. It needs a timing belt. It's done 108k and although it had one at 54k I'd say it's due one again. I've got the Alfa service manual on CD (included in sale) and the timing belt doesn't seem like too much of a ball ache if you have the locking tools as you can get in via the wheel arch. gsf carparts sell the belt and tensioners for 80ish quid. I've seen one guy on the Alfa forums replace the belt without locking the cams by slipping it over the pulleys but I recon you'd not get the timing 100%. Saying all that the service book has a healthy amount of stamps in it up to 90k and there's no warnings or anything on the dash.

Other things are it's got some weird camber going on at the back. It's got camber arms so I suspect these may need replaced although it doesn't effect the way it drives.

The paint is a bit challenged in places as you can see from the pictures and hurricanbawbag tossed a slate off the roof and bounced it off the wing (the bastard). The wheels are a bit flakey. No rust though.

Here's some pictures to feast your eyes upon.

£750 - PM me if you're interested.

The sat nav is fantastic for navigating the roads of Europe as long as they were built before the year 2000 else it denies their existance.

This wouldn't lock when I got it. Even if you tried to lock it from the passengerside it just pinged the locks back up. After lots of coconut scratching I replaced the driverside door lock and it fixed it thankfully.
