martc
Can't make out the operators name, but it's long. Apparently we are in Cheltenham but as it appears to be a WI outing it could have come from anywhere in the 1970's. RayMK

Dyslexic Viking
The buses in Norway were very tired after the war, which the bus on the right clearly shows, so it was a big deal when new buses arrived. All 3 are on Dodge chassis and the picture was taken in 1948 when Jotunheimen and Valdresruten Bilselskap got their first new bus after the war. jon.k, CreepingJesus, lisbon_road and 3 others

Inspector Morose
Just scanning a couple of pics that might be of interest to some. The early '90s saw the last dregs of Bristol RE operation around the country, apart from one well known massochist up north. A tip off found us heading off to Oswestry to track down two running for Tanat Valley coaches alongside various other rammel that small independents seemed to thrive on at the time. We ventured to the nearby yard to find another RE, KTX244L sitting there, a vehicle I knew well as we operated it around Dudley for a while. I think it did make service making it the only ex-Metrowest RE that dodged the scrapman (albeit only breifly) after our use. Matty
My dad's in the Rossendale Valley Male Voice Choir (no sniggering at the back please, we're ashamed too 😆). One of the lads has been a bus driver all his life and owns this beauty as well. Every other Friday he brings it out and all the lads from the choir pile on and do a trip round all the pubs in the valley. Not been yet as I'm about 30 years too young but sounds top craic though. Yoss
19 hours ago, High Jetter said: Sounds ace! I do think the destination board should say '...choir on pub crawl' though Been there, done that.  We quite often took it out on a Sunday, stopped at a couple of local pubs and went back again, just enough to give it a bit of a run. Zoooom! That's another of my hand painted blinds. This was in the days when RM blinds were cheap as chips or free. I remember we walked in to Victoria Garage once and just said we owned one of their old buses (which we did but we didn't have any proof with us), did they have any spare blinds, and this guy led us to a kiosk full of blinds and he just said help yourself. We gave him a fiver for his troubles but he didn't ask. We weren't too greedy but we picked up a whole set and took them home on the train.  That picture was taken in Twickenham bus garage. As was this one, which was our regular spot. Next door is RM 2107 which was owned by the chap who now owns my bus (he might own it, but its still my bus! Always will be). The fact that 2107 also had a Leyland engine and illuminated offside advert panel may or may not have influenced his decision to buy mine. That and the fact that he had known it for 30 years. Twickenham garage was a lovely place to keep buses. The Routemaster Association managed to get a short term lease on the place while LT were looking at selling it. It hadn't been used as a garage since about 1970 (these pictures were about 1992), LT last using it as a store for the Underground. Eventually we were told they wanted about £1m for it which might as well have been fifty billion as there was no way the RMOOA could have afforded it. It was inevitably sold off and replaced with a block of flats that probably sell for a million each now. It backed on to the river next to Richmond Bridge.   Edit: Looks like this now. Tragic. busmansholiday, Dyslexic Viking, MiniMinorMk3 and 4 others
