Junkman
Must have had some heavy sandwiches in that briefcase mind. I'd say a briefcase from those pre-notebook days gone airborne is sufficiently lethal without a heavy sandwich load: Also GR12 for defending yourself in the pub if the need arises. Conrad D. Conelrad
This is an interesting thread. Junkman
Mr. Lefaucheux's car appears to be quite integral after the incident: Those 50s bathtubs could withstand rollovers without much damage.
Junkman
This is an interesting thread. There's definitely something morbidly fascinating about the juxtaposition of vehicles we love and horrific unpleasantness. I have to admit that I had a morbid fascination with lethal car accidents from an early age. I can't explain why, but I always had it.For years I would select holiday destinations in the vicinity of 'famous' car crash sites and visited many of them. warren t claim and Pieman
chaseracer
Must have had some heavy sandwiches in that briefcase mind. Many years ago in a galaxy far far away, the old giffer's MoD briefcase had OHMS embossed in gold. Conrad D. Conelrad
The JFK assassination was posted a few pages back. Interesting thing about that car (SS-100-X) is that they continued to use it until 1977. It was used by Johnson, Nixon, Ford and Carter. Although it had been extensively rebuilt more than once after the assassination, it must have been bizarre to be driven around in the same car your predecessor was gruesomely murdered in. Here's Nixon and his wife in the car after both sets of major modifications. By this time it had been repainted twice, had a new grille, more powerful engine and beefier air con (heat under the bubble dome having been a problem with the original car). A non-removable roof and significant armouring had been added too. Wilko220, Biggy Shackleton and Banger Kenny

Vince70
It is a bit of a grim thread so I thought I lighten it up a bit.I think Prince Harry is a closet nazi as he loved getting into the back of his mums VAG cabriolet from an early age.He also likes he uniform And the only other person I know who liked sitting in the back of a VAG cabriolet was this man. stormee
That could almost be a scene out of Ronin (I know the cars are not quite right but the era is bob on). Almost. Ronin featured an almost dated E34 in 1998, Gladbeck was 1988 and the gangsters demanded a then brand new 735i E32. It was given to them in NL hence the Dutch license plates. In this car they returned to Germany. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gladbeck_hostage_crisis

NorfolkNWeigh
What must happen to get an armoured W126 this lop-sided?Well,looking at the amount of shit carried in these earlier, apparently un armoured GSG9 w126's, a slow puncture on the osf would do it.
