  1. Whuddup people. I bought these for my Sterling, which probably isn't going to be going back on the road until the Spring, and I don't want them getting in the way of all the Christmas Shite the Mrs will no doubt will be festooning the place with very soon. I'd rather just get my money back. Sooner or later I will learn to stick with Peugeots. Vredesteins are a pukka brand, and you'd pay about £50 a corner for mid range stuff of this fitment, so 90 quid the pair is a good deal. Go on, bring out your inner track day wanker. They've never been on a car, still in their shrink wrapping. Brand new, unused, unstolen. Collect from Chelveston, East Northants. Feel fee the hijack the thread about why Chinese tyres will kill you. Ha ha. I'm so funny.
  2. Been mine for the last two years roughly and provided sterling service but I haven't used it since June when the MOT ran out and I can't see me bothering again, I'm getting too close to the end of my current work contract and I'm enjoying my Vito plus need to clear the decks. The car. 2001 Leon, bodywork rust free and reasonably presentable, stupid things like the wing is silver but clearly been resprayed, looks ok but not a perfect match, front bumper hanging off a bit on one side due to a stupid high curb in work catching it. Engine and box are superb, I swapped the box on it as I lost 5th after it's one and only FTP. After I swapped out and stripped the old one it turned out that the 5th gear retaining circlip had fallen off!!! A ten minute fix, but I did find a chipped tooth and the box had been run for years without oil so scrapped it anyway. Works fine now. Literally just remembered I put a cat on it as the old downpipe failed. Starts first time everytime no matter what, doesn't use oil or water, returns 47mpg with all types of driving, have had 600 miles out of a tank and that worked out over 50mpg. Punchy engine too, pulls like a, well, fill in your own description there!! NEVER let me down engine wise, not even hinted at it. I have had one FTP though. A previous owner changed the engine in it so I was told, he must have tightened the engine mounts to 600nM and caused severe fatigue on the bolt. I'd noticed it occasionally rocking after a long run (I was using it 3 times a week back and forth Swansea to Swindon, approx 500 miles). I ignored it as it was infrequent until I found getting gear really hard, this was unbeknown to me because the passenger side engine mount was held on by about 1/2 a thread of bolt. This failed, caused major stress on the other one and then the engine dropped down whilst I was driving along at 30. The only real casualty was the driveshaft which rubbed against the chassis rail and broke the outer CV. I replaced with new, fitted a second hand mount off the other box and way to go. Soon lost 5th so changed that box anyway as stated above, lovely fresh gear oil in it, changes really well for one of these boxes, no whining etc. Interior let's it down a bit, everything works including elec Windows and Aircon but my dog took a liking to the passenger seat and chewed the fabric, he also broke the glovebox lid in the same incident, cheers Chester. It just feels a bit grubby and weathered although surprisingly not worn through anywhere. The catch. It passed the last MOT needing a few advisories which were mostly done by me including a major oil leak (loose turbo oil feed pipe) and in doing so I replaced the wiper blades as they were pants. While doing this, the arm spring dropped into the screen and cracked it. I've driven it for another year like this as it wasn't in the driver's vision. But looking at the MOT rules it will fail due to this. I genuinely can't see what else it will fail on bar possibly rear discs that are a bit ridged however these weren't even mentioned on the last MOT so perhaps not, perhaps a few bulbs. I'm tempted to MOT it myself and put it on gumtree for £650 with a years ticket but cannot be arsed really so I'm offering it at a steal really. It drives great, by all means come and try it, no problem. It has a decent battery as well and included are 2 steel wheels and 2 extra alloys. It's fitted with golf GTi alloys as I detest steel wheels, these vastly improved the ride quality on it, one has a flat though and another a really slow puncture. It's not completely fucked as I wouldn't sell it on here. I'm offering it at just above scrap really add I could remove the alloys and battery, possibly cat, James brown and get my money that way but I'd like to see it live on as it's a good car that I've put 45k on in 17 months!!! Contact through here initially please all. Thanks for reading.
  3. Any interest in these? Knackered batteries I think. Location Carlisle. I'm here until 11am tomorrow, then I have to get back to Ireland. Not sure when I'll be back over next. Low-ball me if you like.
  4. Its a sad day. But this just isn't used no more, and to be honest looks a bit of a heap compared to the new 18 plate vans. Corsavan 1.2 Petrol 2005 (55) 200k+ I thought it had the original engine, but apparently it had one at a year old. Also had a speedo change a year or so back due to the ecu failing, so we swapped the immobiliser, ecu and clocks out. So shows 100k but is 200k All documented. Owned from a year old Was originally Green, sprayed white at a year old. 4 x newish tyres, Hankooks I believe, tracking done recently, two tyres less than 500 mile old. Full tank of petrol. Mot Till April 2019 Will have the oil changed this week. Had loads spent to keep it in good nick mechanically, anything that's its ever needed has been done. 2018 work includes: front pads, starter motor, inner track rod ends, drop link, coil pack and plugs, coolant sensor. Bulbs for speedo. 2017 work includes: new exhaust, wiper motor, outer track rod ends, brake pipes, handbrake rebuilt, radiator, reverse switch., fuel pipes. 2016 work: Front discs and pads, battery, rear brake pipes Also had in the last few years, a clutch, rear springs, abs rings etc etc Has a folder full of receipts to back it all up, we run a check sheet for vans so lads are meant to check the oil, lights etc every time its used. Drives bob on, has a scrape down both sills from lads driving over stuff, been rustproofed a few years back, no rust anyway underneath. Always had seat covers on so the interior is in good nick, its got some stories to tell this van, its been thrashed by everyone I reckon who has ever driven it, I had a memorable drive back from Kings Lynn to Derby a few years back when the brakes started to fade after a ' if in doubt flat out' type run home. Engine is sweet as nut ever, these are a rattily engine but this is good, brakes clutch gearbox all sound, no knocks or bangs, good on juice, just a good van that has had whatever's needed doing. Not sure what its worth really, but I know this hasn't been run on a shoestring and never been serviced, if anything its been serviced way more than needed, but then its only £25 for 5l of oil and £6/7 for a good filter and it takes like 15 mins to do and any other bits are dirt cheap. £500
  5. Mazda Engine. Got it a few years ago from Retro rides, came out of an Eunos. Heard it running before they ripped it out & it sounded spot on. Comes with Ecu and wiring loom, does however need a sump. Collection preferred, but can deliver for fuel cost, no further than 30 miles from Chester. £150 earth U.K pre-brexit pounds please.
  6. Volvo XC90 D5 (2.4) 6 speed Manual EVERYTHING works... Engine and gearbox are both spot on as is the clutch. Just changed one of the drivershafts as it developed a click when turning and accelerating at the same time plus there was a little play in it too so a new part was fitted. 177k but engine purrs with no ticking. She pulls cleanly up through the gears and get her into the boost range and 1) she pulls like a train and 2) the noise of that 5-cylinder growl! Cambelt and waterpump changed etched in under the bonnet in tipex at 159k though I don’t have a reciept. Full leather, air con, cruise, ONE HELL OF A GOOD SOUND SYSTEM THAT WILL BLOW YOUR SOCKS OFF!! MOT - I’ve got her booked in for mid next week so will have a fresh one, added to what is currently remaining will have 12.5 months MOT Negatives? 1) Scratch on drivers front wing 2) at current like most Volvos (well everyone that I have owned so far bar I think 1x S40 a couple of years ago) the petrol flap has come off so requires a new hinge to fit back on. Minor in the grand scheme of things... She has been returning 42/43mpg back and forth to Marlborough this week sat at 75/80. Round town driven sensibly - 38mpg which I think for a permanent 4wd large vehicle is bloody good. Have it remapped and no doubt that’ll go up even more plus the bhp and torque increase will be a bit naughty! Hmmmmm can’t think of anything else....bloody solid car! In Reading so can collect from station etc and all that jazz.... Proper pictures on Sunday....this was a very quick one this evening...
  7. Wrong time of year etc etc, but Elmo the Saab is now for sale again. Previously sold on here but it developed a brake servo fault (hissing from the brake pedal area) at precisely the time the new owner drove it. Monies refunded and I took it back home. Anyway.... Have replaced the brake servo and all is now good. Took me a while as was a bugger to do, but anyway, now done. The car is 2001 Y registered. Automatic transmission and everything works including aircon, reversing sensors etc. No body rust, a few minor marks/ scuffs in the paint and bumpers but extremely presentable really. New front wheel bearings, good and matching tyres and drives beautifully. Sump drop and clean done by me, upgraded breather system fitted by me. New rear silencer..... The list goes on. Transmission fluid changed, oil ( fully synthetic) and filter changed. Pollen filter done also. MOT September 2019. No advisories. 86,000 miles. Much ££££ spent tbh. More than I should have but hey ho... Looking for £695. Located in Lytham St Annes. Can deliver anywhere in the UK for a contribution to pez and rail fare home. Possible swapz. Possibly.
  8. My colleague Pete has this to sell, it was advised last mot for corrosion and will likely need a bit of work around the front seat belt mountings. It has covered 79,000 Available as soon as he has it's private plate is on retention.
  9. I've been very busy for the last month, and a lot has happened. This car however, has been a gem and apart from me sprucing it up, it has been an excellent thing. I have the "change my car" bug again, and I will offer it up properly now on here. I've replaced the centre caps on the alloys, new aerial, fully demisted the headlamps (like new), 4 new NGK spark plugs, pressed number plates, Bosch LED sidelights front and rear, fitted an AUX in to the stock stereo too. Selling it for a smidge less than I paid, and not including the expense that I have gone to. This car is brilliant and economical. I think I want to go old again. Some spiel from the previous (excellent) shiter from whom I purchased it from as follows: 2007 '57' plate Mazda 3 Sport 2.0 petrol in Aurora Blue with 11 months MOT (due Sept 2019). 109k miles FSH new discs & pads all round, 2 rear shock absorbers & 4 new tyres fitted (all the same brand) which have still got plenty of life left in them. It is equipped with DSC, traction control, cruise control, 4 elec windows, elec heated mirrors, leather interior, 6 disc cd changer (with factory fitted Bose sound system), climate control, 2 keys MOT till Sept 2019 The car is in good overall condition (surprisingly un-rusty for an 11 year old Mazda, not even any previous MOT advisories for rust!!!), and has some stone chipping / car park dints / general wear & tear for an 11 year old car. http://autoshite.com/uploads/monthly_09_2018/post-5191-0-60687100-1537693595.jpg
  10. So as the Jag has come into Moog towers it is time to move on the 406. It may do someone as a winter car or just a shed to move house etc. 406 estate -90 bhp (although allegedly may have 120bhp) 100k on clock Mot - Feb 28th 2019 Climate control Winter front tyres with only 2k on them Spare pair of tyres on steels Massive space in the back with seats down Engine is pretty good Will do 50mpg on a run No rust that I can see Front electric windows PAS It's had a fortune spent on it including front strut mounts. No abs or tcs. Pure driving pleasure. Issues Clutch slips if you Welly it (you can easily drive round it) Ignition barrel is a bit worn- takes two or three goes to start (nothing to do with engine) Central locking doesn't Ew switches are a bit broken - they all work but switch pack cover is off Smells a bit inside Scrapes and knocks AC doesn't work Trim inside is a bit iffy Lacquer peel agogo Scrap is offering £200 collected so you could buy it, run for couple of months and then get most the money back. Tuning box could be sold for the extra £100 if it was fitted. Located in Accrington Will get some photos later on.

  15. Another one in storage that has to go... Opel Monza GSE Mileage - been so long I’ve forgotten (by all means use the reg to check if you want) It starts and drives. Is usable in its current state but could do with some restoration. It has the digital dash too (all working) I am uploading photos now - Pictures not great I’m afraid as I had very limited space in which to take them. £1700 and in Reading PM me if you need anymore info or any details as I don’t always get on here to check the thread. 17. New 'For Sale' thread, just so I have editing rights over the title. Sorry for crapping the board a bit. Previous thread here: http://autoshite.com/topic/33378-a-very-french-phase-2-106-11l-of-fury-%C2%A3150-available-in-the-next-month-or-so/ I picked this up this afternoon to save it from being James Browned. Having driven it home, it really is a nice car and I've absolutely no regrets about hopefully helping it live on a bit longer. 82,400 miles, MOT to December 20th. Here's SW's description, to which I'm going to add my observations in bold: Lets start with the good stuff: MOT until December 20th Blue Tartan interior New clutch last month, less than 500 miles ago which feels pretty sharp, nearly stalled it before I got used to itRuns, drives, stopsQuite nippy - almost boy racery - can confirm, it goes well, much better than my 1.5DThe best car I've ever had on fuel by far. 60MPG+ on a trip to the Lake District. - on collection, gauge was showing a bit over 1/4 full. 30 miles later, it was showing a bit over 1/4 fullDecent stereo with AUX and pretty colours - now removed, not unreasonably. I have a crap chinese cheapy to shove inHorn is very loud. Almost abnormally so.Really good for loading stuff in - has the spare wheel underneath so plenty of scope for bungee cordsStacks of history. Loads. Previous owner kept lots of stuff including proof of a cambelt change not hugely long ago - can't remember exactly - still with carNever let me down or failed to startPoverty spec, manual everything, no PAS or central lockingHRW worksTracks straight4000 miles or so until the next service according to the fancy light - oil is clean as a whistle4 good tyres - to be picky, OSR 'Runway' is starting to perish a bit, and the others are a 'Rovello' and two 'HiFly' s. Noticed a very slight wheel wobble at motorway speeds, not enough that I would worry about it thoughNot so good stuff (inhale): Blue tartan interiorOil leak from the engine but never seems to lose any oil. Driveshaft used to squeal a bit but after the clutch was done it didn't - my mechanic had to take off the driveshafts to do it so he put new oil in - guess that solved it - seems fine to meMy partner caught it on the side of the garage getting it in so there is a nice big dent on the passenger side, and scrapes along that side. Wing mirror on that side is now mostly useless and likes to flop about as it pleases. Windows goes 3/4 down, then you hear the door pop out and it goes the rest of the way. Trim has come off and was chucked. - I am going to try and push the dent out from inside. Mirror will be OK with a bit of rolled up gaffa tape to fix it in place, I reckonBoot leaks - I think - the seal was all fucky so I superglued it back on and it seemed to stop but still gets a bit damp in heavy rain I thinkLeaks somewhere else, my passenger footwell has been a bit damp the past few days - and the car smells like damp. Pretty gross. No idea what it is. Starting to think it might just be the boot not drying out but I have a shedload of Hillman parts in it at the moment and can't be arsed to take them out - if I have the rear seats flat for moving stuff water seems to pool under the seats on the floor - it just smells like a 106 to me TBH. Will keep an eye out for leaks. Am hoping that pushing the door back into shape will help, if I can manage that.Needs new front disks and or pads. Not looked, but the pedal is a bit low. Drove my friends C1 the other day and thought he had F1 Ceramic brakes. - Brakes are fine. Haven't investigated the state of discs and pads (I will this week), but they stick the car on its nose if you stamp on them. They're just not over-servoed like modern cars.Various marks - small dent in the bootlid, weird crease on one of the front wingsTrim has started to come off on the drivers doorBelts can be a bit noisy when it starts but soon fades - didn't squeal at all todayIdle has always been uneven, seems to hunt a little up and down (800 - 1000) but it's stable. Almost like it's breathing. When its hot after a long drive it can sometimes drop to 500RPM or so, occasionally springs back to 2k then does it again. Doesn't actually stall. - it idles like a racecar with lumpy cams. I might try cleaning the various sensors and stuff in the intake if I run out of other things to do. Would possibly get annoying if you spend a lot of time in traffic, otherwise it's no bother.Rear box is rusty, blowing and the exhaust rattles between 2 - 3k. Think of it as an audible shift light - honestly didn't think the exhaust was unusually loud. Didn't notice the rattle. Will try and bodge any holes I find initially, if not a new exhaust is about 40 quid from ECP.Blower fan doesn't work. Still has hot and cold but it just drifts out of the vents with speed. Not bothered me as I do a lot on the motorway and wear a jacket when I don't. Fuse relating to this was found melted in the fuse box, and the fuse box is scorched around it. I assume it's the resistor pack, which is attached to the blower fan and is about £30 on eBay and not too hard to fit. Very french indeed. - Will investigate this week. It was lovely and warm on the way home even without a fan. If I can get fan working it will be a super cosy WBODRear wiper is just a display piece at this point. No meat on it, smears everywhere.Front wipers could probably do with a change soon if you're fussyHas some rust on the right hand side of the engine bay. Poked it and it was crunchy. - Will investigate when I look under the bonnet.Speakers are blown and don't sound great on bass notes. Went to replace them but they are riveted in(???) - Found a pair of JVC speakers in the glovebox, assume these were the intended replacements? Will see if I can pop-rivet them in. So, it's now in Catford, SE London. I gave SW the £125 he would have got for driving it to a scrapyard. My intention as I said is purely to save this car from being scrapped, I will not be trying to make any profit from it at all if it sells to someone on here. I've had to cough up 13 quid to tax it, but I intend to get that back by using up the rest of the fuel in the tank. This sale is going to work a bit differently to most- the car is for sale for what it owes me at any given time. If I spend any money on parts to improve it, then the price goes up accordingly. You can step in to take it off my hands at any time. I reckon if nobody does jump in early then it's going to owe me about £250 by the time I've put it through an MOT, which I will try and do a month before the old one expires. If we get to that point it will be up for roffle at 4 quid a ticket. Will bung some more pics up later. Castros_Bro, if you're reading this, the boot floor looks and feels completely solid, unlike my 1.5D which is currently awaiting a serious intervention from the sparkly stick.
  18. Nifty little RM9 2 stroke in that golden sand colour. Non-runner at the moment but I have new fuel line, new plug, HT lead and plug cap to go with. Single seat model, looks to be 99.999999% all there but will need a headlamp mounted headlamp switch. Single seat cover has seen better days. Otherwise all decent. I've made in roads regarding cleaning it up but in all honesty I won't get much farther than that. I'll never ride it, I just got it as it looked fun. Nifty little flick switch that enables the little 'ped to be pedalled like an ordinary bike. No V5C. Tyres are round and black, they hold air but no idea as to how old they are. Lots of spares and know how available. Lovely project in all honesty. I just want back what it owes me, so shitters price is £195.00. Location: Edmonton. Photos at the weekend

    Cheap c3

My mam has just got a new car. She wants to sell her old one. She's had it from new and it has around 60-70k on it. It has mot till September and it's a 1.4 petrol. Mechanically sound, she uses it everyday. It is cosmetically giffered with bumps and scrapes all over. Looking for £250 no offers plz. The car is in Bedlington, Northumberland NE22. The nearest station is probably Morpeth although Newcastle is probably easier and only 12 mile away. Regards, Paul. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  20. Just gaging if any of you fine young chaps would have any interest in this Cav? These Motorsports or Cesaro seem to be a quite a rare beast now. Had a builder mate of mine send me some photos of this abandoned beast in someone’s garden in the Taunton area. He asked the homeowner what they want for the car and they said nothing. I am yet to hear if they have the V5 and no idea of the condition of the car. Their doesn’t seem to be any MOT history online and according to a a search it has not been taxed since 2006. Obviously will need collecting, let me know if you have any interest!
  21. 1974 MG Midget 1275 Chrome Bumper RWA Here is my old MG, she’s a little tired around the edges but she has never been fully restored and mechanically she is 100% and she drives so well. I’m only selling as with a 7 month old son I have just do not have the time to use. This MG has been in my family since 2005 when my mum purchased her from another long term owner and when she became too much for my mum to use I stepped in and took over her ownership. The Round wheel arch (RWA) model is quite rare as I believe they were only made for a short time before production switched to the rubber bumper models. The car is MOT and TAX exempt and I have a history folder going back 25+ years with old MOT’s and TAX discs, loads of receipts etc. Over the years it has had various upgrades like braided brake hoses, alternator, brakes, genuine mini light alloys that are still like new with michelien tyres, K&N air filter, inertia reel seatbelts, wood rim steering wheel etc etc. The most recent work was a new rear axle, fuel pump and clutch over the last year or so. The seats and carpets are in very good condition and the seats are original to the car. If you wanted to make the interior perfect all it would take is a new set of door cards. Electrically everything works with sensible upgrades where needed e.g. halogen headlights and inline fuses added along with electric washers. Bodywork wise underneath is all solid but being a white car it shows any small marks easily. The body is not rotten but the paint is starting to bubble and flake on the top of the rear quarters and both a panels have a small amount of bubbling at the bottom alongside the expected marks for a car of its age, as you can see it polishes up well enough from a distance but up close it could do with some paintwork. The front end panels were all replaced about 10 years ago along with welding to the inner sils and rear spring hangers so these are all solid. Chrome is generally in good, original condition. I have 2 extra tonneau covers that came with the car when my mum purchased it and the hood is in good overall condition and holds up well to the weather. The engine, gearbox and drivetrain are all working well, starts easily and pulls well with decent oil pressure, no axle or gearbox whines or bangs, all gears easy to get etc. In summary this is a fantastic opportunity to buy and use it as is for the next few years or restore the body and sell on (fully restored these seem to go for anything from £8-10K). I will be sorry to see it go but like I say it is just not being used enough currently and I do not see that changing in the near future and its too good to leave in the garage. Looking for £2750 which I think is a fair price for an up together MG which can be used or tidied up a bit if wanted.
  22. Since a post on the forum i've had a fair few peeps ask for details, Volvo 240 Torslander 1993 Not been used for last 6 years, currently on SORN and stored in the dry under cover in the garage. This car has been extremely loved and pampered in the past, it has a superb and comprehensive history file with virtually every bill, and invoice from new, lots of old MOT and tax discs to prove its provenance. Interior excellent hardly shows any wear for its age and belies its mileage of 192K . Exterior dent free. original Torslander wheels. Following it's storage, i replaced the battery and it started instantly, well what would you expect from a 240!. Drives fine. It's a good sensible classic. Bearing in mind its age and time in storage, it's not 100% perfect, and being 100% honest there a couple of minor points to address. Bonnet lacquer good do with a light polish Couple of tiny rust perforations on boot sill lip, these cant be seen with boot shut. All in all a small amount of work to make into a appreciating asset. The positives more than outweigh and negatives 10 fold. Only reason for sale is purchase of a Rover P4 110, and 3 cars in the garage is a bit tight Shitters price 1500
  23. I better put this up for sale before I change my mind. More on this car here: http://autoshite.com/topic/33660-1980-talbot-solara-16-gls/ and here: http://autoshite.com/topic/25384-talbot-solara-gls/ Good points: *Very rare - only roadworthy 1.6 GLS left in the UK according to howmanyleft and 1 of about a dozen Solara's remaining. *Lots of new parts: plugs, leads, cap, rotor arm, fuel pump, fuel filter, etc. *Oil & filter change done last week. *MOT'd until August 2019 so can be driven. *Nice reg with original raised rivet number plates. *Complete and original apart from exhaust. *Comes with some paperwork, old booklets, and many keys. *Starts every time and goes really well if you want it to. Bad points: *Running issue: intermittent spluttering at low revs/light throttle and sometimes stalls when coming to a stop as the revs can drop below idle, still not sure what is causing this. *Tatty appearance all over with rust, mismatched paint and filler in places but completely solid underneath, a real survivor car. *Passenger controls for electric front window does not work, but ones on the driver's side do. Also, passenger rear door doesn't open, handle seems to be stuck. *Lets in water somewhere at the front, luckily this collects on the shelf below the glovebox after a heavy downpour so doesn't get to soak the carpets or anything. *Has an aftermarket backbox so might be loud to some although I quite like the sound. Didn't really want to sell this but at least one of my cars has to go due to a lack of space/money and this isn't being used much now because of the running issue. I would like £1000 but if you want to make me an offer, feel free and I'll consider it. I'll most likely be listing it elsewhere so might sell at any time. PM me for any questions/offers. I'm in Norwich, Norfolk. Thanks, Ryan
