  1. Not watching the tv jubilee now, but two four prop raf planes just went over low enough to wave to the crew very close together too. Any info? Red arrows missed me by going from Windsor to reading.
  2. Thanks, I thought it was a Sotheby’s car but couldn’t find it. Here it is. not sold at 6-8 million! Crazy world. Anyone else look out of their window today and see £6million pounds idling? https://rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/mc22/monaco/lots/r0062-1953-ferrari-340-mm-spider-by-vignale/1240977
  3. Ideas on this? It’s got a Ferrari badge on the nose but looks more American,
  4. My fault - Mercedes on the brain! on this topic though. Why are Porsche codes starting in 9?
  5. I’ve quite happily run old cars as daily drivers since 1993. ( Citroen 2cv, cx Pallas, cx DTR. And recently the Mercedes coupe for nearly 10 years). None have left me stuck on the side of the road. After the cx DTR rusted I part exd it for a three year old c5 in 2006. Very cheap (£4K) and low mileage (33k) but needed breakdown recovery three times. That pxed for the merc which went to @Six-cylinder because of rust. I’ve now got a brand new fiat as a daily because I needed a car quickly and the only other things I fancied were old rusty jags. 2cv 1993- 2001 Cx Pallas 1999-2001 ( murdered by a French driver) cx dtr 2001-2006 c5 2006-2012 mercedes 2012-2021 fiat TIPO 2021- plus 2cv 1995- present plus x1/9 2006 - present
  6. The x1/9 is £200 ish as is the 2cv. Both agreed value policies @£10,000 and £7000.
  7. Driving back down the m40 yesterday afternoon I passed a suitably shabby x reg red Porsche (924 non turbo?- the badges were missing / dropped off). Anyone here? It was well filled up, and looked like a young guy driving. If it’s a student hack then it’s very well done!
  8. All in way of saying I could come up and visit. I’ve been out of WiFi in the lakes this weekend so can you refresh the info on visiting dates?
  9. Last did that in about 1997 for the 2cv which my sister had at imperial college - me on the ground in white shirt and suit trousers with a baked bean tin and two jubilee clamps.
  10. My Pallas did that too ( it was Neptune grey, and this is Gris espadon = swordfish). I expect it needs a repaint. I don’t think Citroen used a lacquer layer on their metallics at the time.
  11. A bargain if it’s not rusty. Shame the interior has gone saggy, my Pallas interior ( grey herringbone tweed) never did, but the velour suffers.
  12. Looks like an Aardman Animations plasticene recreation for Shaun the Sheep!
  13. Birthday is actually in the week, but convenient today. Mum made the cake- she says she won’t take commissions but has taken lots of pics for people to make their own. And the original...
  14. Pretty sure the Ford Falcon was an N reg.
  15. Wot, no HOT tractor action? It’s all the rage in Westminster.
  16. Just back from Beaulieu autojumble. Not been for several years and it was a lot quieter with perhaps 1/3 of traders spaces empty. Not much for sale in the arena I liked either. Mason’s black silver shadow was smart though. some oddities spotted, one with hubnut @dollywobblersticker. big Saab display @Saabnuttoo.
  17. Watching Mona Lisa (again). The white jag I’ve just looked up says it hasn’t had its first mot.
  18. It’s surely old enough not to need a plate with bs markings? The 2cv doesn’t have one.
  19. A bit like shangrila, the mystical city no one can find.
  20. Can you retrofit knock off to spin off?
