  1. Horrible ai advert praises slick gearchange (ha!) and then says clutch is slipping. Overall looks ok for the money. Wrong wheels for the year, but that’s being picky.
  2. I know what you mean. The only downside with plasma is that they can be expensive to run. We used to do analysis for the company that was developing OLED technology. A spin off from UCL I think. Sold out to merck or someone and left us with three months of bills unpaid. Nearly put us under twenty years ago.
  3. Jet 1 concept (with work and imagination)
  4. 1967 Ferrari 330 GTS by Pininfarina | Cliveden House | RM Sotheby's (rmsothebys.com)
  5. Most responses seem to reinforce my decision to ignore single model forums.
  6. To be honest, I’d missed any mention of an April meet. I’ve delayed swapping cars around because of the wet weather, and the 2cv being poorly. For the first time ever, I’m not likely to have a classic to drive on drive it day.
  7. Note the Citroen CX in the background,
  8. From Wrexham local bygones FB page. 1982. My x1/9 was a dickens car in 1988.
  9. Typical wet Bank Holiday Monday in Wales.
  10. Just been for a walk in bright sunshine from the ponderosa on the horsehoe pass.
  11. It was tired. wheel is original if faded leather.
  12. I’ve seen two on the list now, the other being the Ankerwycke yew at runneymede. Trees of that age, it’s quite amazing to sit and look at them and contemplate on all they’ve been through and “witnessed”. This crowhurst tree was probably around when the Egyptian Pharoes were building pyramids.
  13. Is a child seat an advisory now?
  14. Crowhurst village churchyard, about 10min drive from the meeting. It’s got a mention on Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crowhurst_Yew https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Great_British_Trees
  15. I’ve spent 10mins in pouring rain trying to enter the reg of the TIPO into a meter for free parking. Always came back as not valid until I realised I was using the x1/9 suffix gma not gua of the TIPO.
  16. Just realised the box of corgis etc are still in the boot, having been on a nice 70mile trip! Oh well. i was obviously distracted by the magnificent display. Good to talk to people, sorry I lowered the tone with the modern daily. Hope you all got home safely without incident. hard to pick a favourite, @Weird Car wins the spirit of autoshite award for shear gung ho attitude, and a devil-may-care 8mpg, @Six-cylinder for practical wafting estate and @Three Speed for his compact two door city car. Where else will you see a brace of favorits sandwiched between a Porsche 924 and bonk the magic wagon ( plus merc, Mazda, Saab).
