Yes is the short answer.
Thursday evening a victim is being pressurized to come and agree to weld my Mini!
Once he has seen the car I will know how urgent it is to get the car rolling and transported to him.
When welding up my last CX, my welder friend did moan that he needed some metal to weld to.

Those Courier tyres look nearly as bad as the set I took off the Montego.
If youre feeling flush with cash you can still buy new Camac tyres that used to feature on every 10" wheel Mini back in the day!

I think it’s a bit like getting a Savill row suit for a homeless person. They will look better, but more necessary expense is overlooked.

Thought of the rolls earlier watching the latest YouTube from Iain Tyrrell. He was showing how the rolls Royce electric windows worked. The reason the motors have so many wires is that they have a solenoid driven brake that basically locks any movement.

It was rife in the 50s, apparently. I heard / learnt about it at school in the 60s/70s so it would have been current in the joke* writer's mind.
Watership down ( the bunny snuff movie) was out in 1978.

Anyone near Staines on Sunday needing a trip out for drive it day. The local 2cv groups are having a drive up to the chiltern open air museum at Chalfont St Giles. Obv. Citroen based, but I don’t think anyone else tagging along would be disappointed. They’re meeting at 9.30 sainsburys Staines, and beaconsfield services at 11.

I am not ashamed to admit I have put Mini carpets in the washing machine before. On a delicate wash no spin. They came out lovely
Have done the same with 2cv seat covers too. They’re already awful, so what’s the worse that can happen?

Photos look like something out of a 70s crime scene but I wonder if this could be saved.
Interior has some weird colour aging. Pink carpet and beige dash when it should all be the grey of the glove box. As was mine dull grey everywhere but a spaceship experience.
