I saw a big bag of clinical waste once. Needles, bloody bandages, all sorts of horrible stuff. I was on foot when I found it. Called the cops who arrived mob handed in a Land Rover.

It was here, at 3pm on a week day.

During my fairly brief stint as co-owner of a minicab firm, our chaps (and a couple of laydeez, too) had your usual mix of VAGSHIT and Mercs. We had a few left-field choices, though: a Honda Accord 2.2 diesel, a minty Lantra 1.6 pez and a Hyundai Accent saloon. Some of the older drivers talked fondly of Bluebirds, JDM Camry diesel autos and of course the Montego Prima. Our eldest driver, James, first started taxiing in a Marina.

Nah, Logans was a Ford and Rover dealer, now MG Crispy Duck. Bairds was off the Longlands Road, beside Kart Valley.

All 3 of my Sambas are long gone I'm afraid. RIJ 576 was a 1.1GL in gold that was a bit crusty. AXI 5727 was a 954cc LE in red, and was mintola. I had a blue one for parts as well that was given to me for nothing, provided we went and got it pronto. Towed it from Whitehead to Carrick with the LE which was a mission, as the car was stuffed full of bits as well, and was very heavy.
When me and my mate started examining the parts in the back of it, none of them were for a Samba!

There's defo some photos somewhere, especially of the red one. We're talking 1990-92, so pre digital. I took quite a few of the car, as I did various things to it. MG Metro rear spoiler, Colt Celeste bonnet scoop and some dinky wee three stud alloys from a Citroen LN (I think!). There used to be a Peugeot Talbot parts place in Newtownabbey called Bairds, and they got me the P-T racing stripes and the black overlay for the bootlid. I originally wanted just to get a new one, but they got me a Samba GLS one by mistake. I used it anyway.

The seats from the GL found their way into the LE, and looked good with the red. I always wanted to get a later dashboard with the high up radio, but never managed to find one.

I did paint the bumpers body colour, and they looked brilliant. For ONE day. Peeled off in huge chunks, most embarrassing. Rat look before it was a thing.

I really must find those photos. They'll be among the several thousand in my parents' house, no doubt.

Apparently the MLS gasket is a load of rubbish. Payen is supposed to be the way to go, from what I've been told.

A mate had one of those type things. It was called "The Golden Bee", also a 125. Uttely fucked at a year old. Thankfully, someone nicked it.

It's a VM image I got from a friend of a friend who works for Ford I.T. Up to 2011 IIRC. Works with your silly English registration numbers, and VINs. IF you need anything, give me a shout.

OK, now bear in mind that this is quite possibly a bum steer. Anyway, some E46s with the N42 engine rated as EU3 have a secondary air pump that can make a whirring noise. Your car might be too old, though. I can post the bulletin. You just pull the relay to disable it, and it causes no OMGEMISSIONSCHAOS. Makes you wonder why it's there.

Since I don't really know what I'm looking for, if you'd like an ISO of this Workshop Info System (it goes to 2008) let me know and I'll send you a private torrent link, and leave the torrent up for a while.

What year is your car? I have the BMW TIS on the server. Might be something on there.

I know you've discounted the blower, however there's loads of stuff on Autodata about A/C issues. One of them states that there's a small movement of the flaps (fnarr!) every time you switch the ignition on/off, and are operated by wee motors. I wonder is one of them sticking on? That said, they're probably not in the engine bay, mind.

Other stuff relates to failure of the AC control module. I haven't owned an E46 for a long time, so I don't remember where said module is.

People doing sudden u-turns (and three point ones) are probably about the most dangerous drivers about, along with those wankers who drive up to a junction at stupid speeds, then look like they're not going to stop, before slamming on and nudging out 8 inches into the road to try and force their way out.

Exciting* times here as I bin the garish looking alloys off the estate (keeper) and swap them for the nicer ones off the hatch (not keeping)

The ones off the estate turned out to be genuine Irmscher ones, and are 16", might see if they're worth a few quid and flog them on.

Oh well. Left in the lull of the hill climbing and sneaked out the back way.
Lots of lovely things as well as modern flash stuff driven by people with no taste.
