First impressions, it drives quite well and although not particularly fast it picks up speed fine, bit of a wheel wobble around 70mph probably due to this.

Just fucking wow! It's amazing under there!
The rust around the rear screen isn't pretty but everywhere else seems to be in great order. It doesn't currently run, I think it needs a new mechanical fuel pump and some new points as the wiring all seems a bit loose. Yesterday at the sellers place it seemed to fire up briefly so I know that it is capable of doing something but at the moment there's no fuel getting through. Replacement bits seem to be readily available and cheap on ebay.

Most of my profits go into a savings account which I'm using to save for a house, I'm just shy of £25k at the moment.
It's good to be able to mess around with cars, experience lots of different kinds of cars and sell them on when I feel like it. I'm sure I could probably save quicker if I just cut down to one cheap car and put my monthly wage straight into the bank but it's more interesting wasting it on cars each month.
I very rarely buy things just to sell on, I buy what I like and if it turns out I don't like it there's always the option of selling it on.

    The joys of ldv ownership!
I noticed at the weekend when clearing some stuff out of the back of the van there was a crusty area around the rear arch/wheel tub. After some gentle prodding it became a hole.
I was just going to leave it but after driving the van a few miles it was apparent it needed sorted asap because the fumes from the side exit exhaust seemed to be going straight into the back of the van. Driving it with both windows down didn't seem to help much either.
Last night I grinded the area, made a repair section and started welding it in, the repair section was quite a good fit but required some taps with the hammer to shape it when it was tacked in place.
After a few taps with the hammer I noticed some flaky underseal which another bastard hole appeared under further around the wheel tub so when I finished the first patch I had to make another similar one and weld that in to.
I drove it to work today and there's no reek of diesel fumes coming in but it does smell like burning underseal instead!

After Sunday's shite in the park we went to see a BX I'd enquired about over the weekend. I didn't end up buying it but Ged did and I drove it back to the unit.
It seems to go well enough although I was scared to drive it too hard as it had been off the road for a while and fuel gauge was either at zero or inoperative.
It goes up and down fine too.
It's had a wee bump on the rear corner but damage looks superficial.

I was clearing out a bunch of tat from my spare room recently. I advertised everything for free and also delivered everything locally for free. Everyone I gave stuff to genuinely seemed thankful which was nice but delivering the items just made it so much easier instead of waiting at home for people not to turn up.

My sister's appliance and the vehicle of the future next to it.
It is my favourite vehicle, you feel like you are floating on this boosty veg fuelled cloud, it has an XUD9TF engine with a Bosch pump. I turned up the fuel pump with @Supernaut's assistance, the gearing is quite short but it will do 80MPH uphill and keep accelerating, and keeps up with most traffic now. I put Maxxis all season van tyres on it and it feels very secure on the road now it's cold and wet.
    It's class.

DodgyBastard reacted to Lacquer Peel in The new news 24 thread
A DW8 one must be dismal. It goes pretty well with the XUD9TF and even better with the injection pump turned up a little.
The gearing is something like 23MPH/1000rpm in this so pretty low geared and thirsty but it's veg, who cares.

I have been enjoying this a bit, especially since fixing the utterly knackered front wishbones and the tracking with help from @juularand his fishing line.
The control arms are standard Fiat parts, one of them was £13 including postage!
It has a soft ride and roly poly handling but with a sharp turn in, it is fun to drive once you get used to it. It takes the "bumpy road" near me with the grace of a 90s Peugeot.
The Fiat 1.9 turbo diesel seems to quite like its vegetarian diet but the turbo whistles like a siren.
It is a bog standard 90s diesel hatchback really but I like its odd styling, it is out of place in the UK where it wasn't sold new.
Plans are to wire brush and rust treat crusty bits,  where it's been jacked in the wrong place and rusted, try to get the blower motor  working as it's annoying now it's getting wet and cold, and drive it/burn veg.

I bought this as a winter beater from Ged after he won it in a raffle I did and fitted a new pair of front drive shafts.
I really need to get the original bumper refitted because I think it looks daft with what's currently fitted.
It's a 1.8 non turbo petrol, constant 4wd with switchable hi/lo. I've been using it for the last couple of days and it's starting to grow on me a little, it's not particularly fast but makes the typical Subaru boxer burble which makes it sound fast.
I swapped that Simson moped for it before and the previous owner had made absolutely no attempt to clean it out, it was full of tip run debris, fag ash, old roll ups and crumbs.
I cleaned it out last week but it still reeks of cigarette smoke and weed and there's some stains on the seats, I think I may need to enlist a professional to freshen it up but concerned it might still be too revolting inside.
