Done for the day anyway!

This is taking a little bit longer than anticipated... Just one last patch and I'm done!

Gas purchased this morning so I set about making a sill panel. Annoyingly the metal folder wasn't long enough for the complete section so I had to chop it in half. Welded it together. And done. Just 3 small sections to make an weld in then I can change the slave cylinder.

Made a small amount of progress on the 504 welding, one bit of floor and an inner sill all welded up. I ran out of gas at the end so switched to gasless wire but it was absolute dog shit so have stopped until I get more gas tomorrow. I had a look at the Cortina, it just looks like the seal where the prop joins the box has given up. Wishful thinking is remove the prop, fish out the old seal, fit a new one and top up the oil and hope for the best. I should be picking up another gearbox tonight anyway so no drama if the simple fix doesn't work.

Just a reminder that this is happening this Sunday. Is anyone from here planning on going?

It's a 1.3 petrol but goes quite well for the size of it.

That was handy, a working car arrived this afternoon. I think these are the only two decent working cars I have at the moment. I welded up a blow in the 505's exhaust last week which has now made it apparent that the wheel bearings are needing changed. To top it off the Audi A3 was making some strange noises from the tank lift pump and struggling to start so have ordered a new one along with a bunch of other parts for my ever growing collection of broken cars.

Good news! The diff is fine. Bad news, it's the gearbox that's fucked...

This day is getting worse as it goes on, took Ged up to collect the 205 in Forfar and I think the Cortina has blown a seal in the diff. Will I make it back? Who knows....

The 504 appears to be leaking from the slave cylinder again, I replaced the cylinder and seals when I bought it but looks like I need to change the seal again. Whilst underneath I spotted a crispy looking bit on the passenger floor. I poked some more and some more bits fell off. Now it needs the floor welded plus inner and outer sills... Shite.

Corolla hasn't been delivered yet and with some cash burning a hole in my pocket I went to see this. Volvo 480es 2.0 auto, took it for a spin and it drove fine, interior was a bit plasticy and rattled a lot. it's advertised at £1250 but I didn't have the means to take it away so didn't buy it. I am still thinking about it but not 100% sure I really want it...

Sold the ts50 today and will be buying a Corolla tomorrow... what a honey!

I've never met the owner but think he's quite a young guy. I sometimes see it at the college near my work so think he might be an apprentice of some sort.

Next car meet has been arranged for 29th of May at 10am and being held at the Scottish vintage bus museum near Dunfermline. It's £2 per car, all donations going to the museum for letting us use their field.
