I went to see it tonight, some frilly looking bits around the rear arches and bootlid. Battery was dead, tried jumping it but wouldn't start so just transporting it tomorrow.
It was in regular use until the owner gave up driving due to dementia, MOT expired in 2021 so hoping with some fresh fuel and a charged battery it'll go again.
It has a bunch of paperwork and has done 34k miles. I may well have paid over the odds for it at £700 but maybe not if I can get it going easily and register it historic...

I don't think any Minis, Maestros or Montegos ever had a Rover badge.
The V5 may say rover, but the cars were just Mini, Maestro or Montego
 
MG was a used on Ado16's in the 60s and 70s. Surprised they didn't MG the mini when they decided not to pay John Cooper sixpence per car or however much. We got the 1275GT instead.

Love this - I had one this colour as a stop gap and ran it for nearly 3 years!  They are great fun!
If you need bits look for Chrysler crossfire parts - I had a wiper mechanism and bonnet catch and they are much cheaper - but same parts - even have the merc badge on them!
I have some wheels centres in black and I think a fuel filter I never used - if they are of any use you are welcome to them for postage cost
And top down heater on in all weather - just stop for no fucker if its raining

I actually think the Capri is 1974-1976 so it wasn’t handed down!  I later into the 40s sadly 😂

Probably mentioned it before but I was really hoping the Rancho would resurface when we were packing up ready for a house move this time last year. No such luck, although I did find a Burago BMW 635 I'd forgotten having. 

I was just thinking the exact same thing!
