So this just happened. Best of it is, in the same sentence they will probably shorten a word because they can’t be arsed to type it when they already added one that shouldn’t be there.

Nice little project.
You have the ballast type of ignition there, I can tell from the white/ pink wire going to the coil +.  This is very different to the earlier Minis and can cause issues with the resistance wire melting/ breaking/ making the wiring loom very, um, crispy.  This might be why you're experiencing running issues.
If you're going over to electronic ignition, I'd advise to ditch the ballast system, and run a decent, dedicated 12v feed from the ignition switch to a new 3 ohm coil.  The ballast one on your car should be 1.5 ohms.

Theyre in a blocky modern font and follow the love for black background plates. IIRC you can put these on anything up to a ‘79 now. To a number plate obsessive (raises hand awkwardly) this feels, and looks, all wrong.
Anyway- would a 71/72 k been on the more modern reflectives or the old plates? Maybe, maybe not. I wanted a bit of 70s modernist realism going on so ideally wanted a reflective set. 
Trouble is, the 7s and 8s are all wrong on these. I want an 8 to have an hourglass shape. Yes im aware this sounds pervy 😂 and a brand new number plate has no patina.
So i got hold of an old number plate that had the key older characters i was after, and added new old stock one of those that were missing.

 
I then aged the too-new looking NOS ones with some wet and dry, took it all to bits, and drilled and reassembled.
So the shad shed has a bit of a 70s sweeney / long good friday era look to it….

I’ve always been a fan of driving lights. I think they look the ducks guts and are a practical accessory for the night time driver. Did I forget to mention they are as cool as penguin piss?

Definitely missed driving this. It FTP'd on Christmas Eve, abandoned outside my work until the day after Boxing Day where I drove it to my local garage in first gear - thankfully its only down the road and round a corner from where the car was left sitting.
After much clutch slave cylinder borkage, I got it back the other day. Clutch changed as well, feels a load nicer to drive.
