  1. It's had its day. I was getting bored of the "holy trinity" of Clarkson,Hammond and May too,in fact I find them insufferable now. Time to knock it on the head.
  2. Apart from the wank wheels, the wank arches and the wank paint,I quite like that.
  3. '94 Defender in the Congo.
  4. Fuck me!! Are those engine mounts welded to the removable front subframe and the chassis rails?? Good luck with removing the top suspension arm pivot bolts if that's the case. 🙄
  5. A recent find is this Fun Ho Bedford Tanker truck, all the way from New Zealand! Not a great casting by any stretch of the imagination, but it's a charming little thing despite its shortcomings! Never had a casting from this manufacturer before. Quite pleased to have found it.
  6. Oil change time again for my ageing mk4. With the added fun*of a fuel filter change too!🙄 Assume the position. Genuine parts, yeah I could get them cheaper from the factors, but these fit perfectly, I've tried a factor oil filter before but it didn't fit snugly into the housing. Out with the old oil filter. In with the new. Air filter wasn't too dirty, but due a change on mileage. Glug, glug, glug. 5.5 litres of oil is the recommended amount, I've always just put in 5,and it's always up to the full level on the dipstick. That's that done. Fuel filter lurks in here by the rear axle. I clamp off the fuel pipes as close to the connectors of the fuel filter housing as possible. Screw off the bottom housing to reveal the filter. Small bit of crud in there, but no glitter. Washed out and new seal fitted. Old filter, actually not that bad,but it was just about due for replacement on mileage. New one in. End cap screwed back on,and primer bulb attached. Pump pump pump, until you get an exhilarating diesel shower from the outlet. I refit the outlet fuel line at this stage and give it another few pumps of the priming bulb to get diesel into the line. Reattach the inlet connection, and start,if I've done it right it won't stall, but you will see a few air bubbles in the fuel line to the pump. I did and it didn't. Probably the last time I'll be doing the fuel filter on this old girl. It's a crap job to do,but if you're careful it's not too difficult, just the location and lack of self priming is a total ball ache.
  7. That's interesting,it's the Super Stock. Looks like it's lived a hard life🤣
  8. Any ideas on this? Picked it up at the weekend. Looks kinda Evel Kenevel(ish) 1976 made by Ideal,Hong Kong. Faded stickers on the doors say 77. The others are too faded to make out anything. Never seen one like this before.
  9. They won't be allowed, cops stingers won't work on them.
  10. The other one I have was made from the best parts of three others,so was happy to find a nice original one.
  11. One of my favourite recent finds is this near mint Matchbox No11 Flying bug. Quite probably one of the most bonkers castings from matchbox, quite difficult to find in good condition. Chuffed to find this, wasn't cheap at €5.00,but wasn't expensive either.
  12. They all didn't have the luminous stickers.
  13. Had to deal with a lacquer peeling Yaris bonnet for a friend. Removed the bonnet and sanded all the loose lacquer down to the base coat,a pain in the hoop. Dents and chips filled. Rubbed down, and given a squirt of primer. I couldn't be arsed painting it myself,so my nephew collected it and took it to his dad's paint booth that evening. Got it back the next day and refitted it. Result.
  14. Mid 70's I guess,and No I don't.
  15. Picked up this Corgi Whizzwheels VW last weekend. It suffered from broken suspension and the roof beacon was rattling around inside so it had to be drilled open. The best bit is,the stickers are luminous! How cool is that!!
  16. Best way to view it. Was there yesterday, was a quagmire.
  17. He mentioned €2,500 to me. I reckon it's ropey enough underneath.
  18. Spotted this giffer spec MGB at a show today,it's for sale if anyone is interested.... Engine is Claterted with paint,I particularly like the screw in the radiator, a nice touch I think. He was a nice old lad,but The giffer repairs and improvements was too good not to share.

  20. There isn't any really big farms around here, but with unpredictable weather and a short season,it's get as much done as you can in the shortest time possible.
