The 220 must live on!  How bad is it these days?  I'd still be up for coming and helping out with some recommissioning on it.

Not much to update, I've replaced the Renault alloys with Mini steels, repaired the cracked mirror and done a hill climb at Shelsey Walsh.
Have been toying with selling, because that's what I do, but difficult to see what I'd replace it with that'd be any better.
I did see a 'nice' Skoda 120L on Facebook, but it sold before I could pull my finger out and enquire.

@Supernaut came over and helped fitting tyres to the Camry and ldv and had a go in the BX and mgf.

I decided to bite the bullet and order a set of number plates from that 'Retroplates' fella of Instagram on Monday, Tuesday he had already drafted up a set on his computer.

And by Thursday they were sat on my door mat.

I have to say I was very impressed, yes they are bloody expensive really, more than DMB cost (£60 delivered) but they look so much better than the wanky modern scene tit ones I had before.

Camry failed its mot yesterday so going to be doing a bit of welding on it today. I thought I'd get a clean pass but I've got to admit I've never really inspected it, it was just the fact that it drives so well that led me to believe everything was fine. It just needs a small bit of welding in the inner wheel arch and possibly the exhaust sticking back together so quite an easy fail list to work to.

I reckon an afternoons welding will see it looking good again. Now that I know what I'm working with I'm quite tempted to have a go at welding it. I was keen to get it away before I'd smashed holes in it and could have done with the space for a £300 Lexus but the Lexus didn't end up happening and I've made a bit of space from preparing the 205 for scrap so I have no real rush to get rid of it.
Plus the MGF should be leaving shortly so will have a bit of space back next week if the Lexus is to turn up.

Dad got a rather good deal on a Corolla saloon don't you think? €695/£590 for a 2004 model with less than 60k miles. Plenty of life left in it.

Took the Volvo for its MOT first thing this morning. Don’t know why but I dread MOT’s!
Phone call an hour later - ‘it’s passed no problem, ready for you to collect!’
Nice! Not bad for a nearly 34 year old car. All sorted for another year.

Despite an enormous phobia of needles and medical procedures in general, today I finally got two ticks on my covid vaccination card. Has NOT been an easy journey to this point, but here I am.

You've probably seen this @dollywobbler, similar power to a 602 but 4 times the torque! Be interesting to see if you could get a back to back comparison to Elly. Drag race maybe 😅?

I picked up a fresh bottle of gas on Tuesday afternoon so yesterday I took the day off and did a load of welding.
Finished the wheel arch off which was basically just running seam welds. I may or may not get round to filling and shaping but to be honest @sharley17194 and I don't have many weeks till our road trip and looks are bottom of the agenda Vs. A road legal car!

Then I did some patches in the passenger rear arch where some holes were.

The rear calipers needed work for every MOT it had with me so I'm not surprised they've given up now.  I forgot about the cracked screen, that's a shame as it's the first thing I had to get fixed way back in 2013!
