I think a common perception amongst some on here is that greatness has never been achieved, things have never been completed and that life is basically a good bit shittier than it could be.    I don't think those feelings are unique or common to only a few - it is just that many other people bullshit and overplay their own lives and make it seem as if we are "missing out".    Some clever fella once wrote to the effect that "the mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation".    We only make sense of it all when its nearly over......
It just seems ironic that those on here who appear the most self-deprecating actually have many of the most interesting things to say.    Chin up, fellas......

Day off today so enjoying more topless frolics with the saab. Listening to the turbo doing its thang with the roof down in SPROTS mode is fun. Think the weather is to turn by the weekend so making the most of it ?

Bit of a fleet update......Not much happening so there aren't any juicy tales of newly found rust - least not until I get the toffee hammer out again.
Just taxed the Minor for the first time without an MOT.    Did about 1000 miles since the last one which is quite shameful wastage.   Will get it tested some time over the summer but enjoying it for commuting at the moment.    This means the Fezzer is currently up the barn doing nothing and would be for sale if it wasn't so warmly re-assuring having a spare motor.
T25 is providing excellent sleeping facilities at various rock and roll clubs around the country and has just done a 500 mile run up and around the Peak District - it will be my mobile tea-room at work this weekend which means I don't have to listen to twattish conversations in the mess room Saturday and Sunday.
Cowley is doing the occasional work run but mainly being kept for longer journeys but did provide a great talking point outside the theatre last week where we saw Marty Wilde.
I would mention the 190E but I honestly haven't set foot in it for a month, I noticed it needed a clean the other day but if Mrs Rocker ever parks it for long enough......
Nothing new to report otherwise.    Oh, there is a development - after 15 years of ownership the self-cancelling on the Minor has suddenly decided to start working but only on left-turns.   Its confusing the hell out of me - not least because I have been using the left flashers as reversing lamps in the car port for over a decade and they now switch off just as I start lining up!

Break out the buckets and spades
We're going caravanning for a few days
a third world shit tip of crisps and lemonades
    Seaview Campsite, run by  Hades.

Mam's sister made us play out in this seaside carbuncle
as she'd be dead busy with another new uncle
do us a favour, walk to Grimbsy town
get us some more wool, here's half a crown

An' when we'd gone she'd pull out the stops
Five quid for oral, two for fingers and tops
'ang up your coat and get in the queue
keys in the fruit bowl, you're number two

Kitsch furnishings and wipe clean placcy
as Bob came to visit on his 500 Bukaki
and fornicated and frolicked on garish formica
before making his way for the next greasy biker

she'd close all the nets coz she knew for certain
he'd wipe 'is knob on Cath Kidson curtain
then 'ang up 'er knickers in the front window to dry
the white stains would come off if she bothered to try

an' in the kitchen of this sticky backed prison
more than one pork sword had been arisen
a bread bin for the nodders, a tub for the jizzm
you can't say our Carol did nowt for tourism

an' on guard old Buster was made to stay
paid like her in sausage all day
overweight and idle  and fond of a bone
but that's enough of me aunty, I wanna go home.

Felicia Pacific with Fun alloys. Very colourful. Well, three alloys anyway.
The Pacific was a special edition with bright blue seats and door trims but they've taken it one stage further here and painted the dashboard blue to match.

Rather more tasteful (though I'd rather have the Felicia).

And then there were these. A Simca ice cream pickup. Had a chat with the lady
that was doing the selling and her father bought it new and made it as it is now.
All original except for the ice cream bit, obvs. Lovely, eh?
And an Wartburg. Didn't realise there was
a Wartburg scene. I think the owner might be trying to start one.

Some spots from a Dutchland tractor show. The Dat was in front me going in
to the car park so I had a quick chat. One owner, 70k but not as good as the photos
suggest. Still, good to see. The yank tank was shonky with dents, dings and rust.
The 205 was nearly mint but a daily none the less.

This fuck off machine, seen further up, was owned by a young guy, 25 ish,
and new has 260 bhp. He'd added extras and got it up to 320. It might not be
considered shite but the sound was fuckin amazing. I mean look at the back end.
If you like an tractor you have to be slightly impressed. Well, I is.
There was some log dragging going on and they didn't have enough to make
this thing slow down at all and the noise? tractor trouser tent stuff.
