Would be nice to turn something like this into some kind of members' catalogue where for every car you could index every member's reviews

Currently cycling across France. Local registered Ford F-Max spotted earlier: Also, trucks here are generally older than they are in the UK. Why? Seeing anything pre-eu5 in the UK is rarity today - in France they seem to still be going strong.

From today's bike ride... driver had appeared to have tried to make a right turn from the left fork of a triangle, not quite made the turn then his wheels just spin out when trying to reverse. He was spotted putting sheets of timber from his load under the wheels to improve adhesion. A happy ending though as he overtook me 20 minutes or so later 😎 Not shown: long queues of traffic from all directions -

What is going on here? There appears to be a bendy bus graveyard in Bristol. I recognise the FTRs - no idea what those are which look like greenhouses.

I also want an M35 for turbo whistle powa. But if it's pre 1960 I just need a car licence?

For most applications though a driven front axle will just add a lot of weight and driveline drag. MAN has a fancy new technology called hydradrive or something where the front wheels can be driven hydraulically, on demand, at low speeds, which seems a clever compromise. Those agri tractors look neat though. The MB Zetros hasn't been a massive sales success for either overlanding or military/government uses, I haven't come across any in RHD flavour or otherwise sold over here. I guess the Unimog is preferred in most of those applications.

Having done a lot of travelling in Asia a few years ago those Sinotruck things are everywhere, also branded Howo and CNHTC. Never saw any Volvo based though, they looked like an indigenous design: But also looks like it could be an old Volvo cab now I think about it.

I think they stopped selling after Euro3 or 4 as Hino couldn't supply a compliant engine anymore. Plus they weren't very luxurious, manual only option, hose down etc. Didn't really fit the bill compared to everything else on the market. I think they're great though. They were imported via some CKD route in Ireland

I want to say I once read it had a very limited life, additionally because MAN's UK products have been pretty shoddy. Interestingly though MAN are massive in Europe and seem to last forever.

Ford of Turkey makes them and they are very popular over there. A few get sold on the continent and end up with EU numberplates, but most will be Turkish reg. Good spot. Wonder if they will ever make it in RHD?

I believe those MEN are integral, the rear staircase is funky too and cleverly designed around the corner mounted longitudinal flat D20 engine. East Lancs tried to make a MAN DD over here based on a smaller 6-litre chassis but believe it wasn't a sales success, think it originally was with Stagecoaches. Looked smart imho.

https://www.alexander-dennis.com/media/news/2021/april/bvg-confirms-order-to-take-berlin-s-adl-enviro500-double-deck-fleet-to-200/ Anybody who has been to Berlin will recognise that it is one of the few cities outside the UK and the colonies that uses double decker buses, mainly MAN tri-axles. Anyway, looks like ADL has finally made some sales over there - British built buses in Germany, albeit with Merc not Cummins engines - presumably Cummins doesn't sell a big Euro6 engine here anymore.

I imagine moduhns with electric seat adjust have 'profiles' where you select who is driving. For example Mr and Mrs will be of different heights etc and warrant different driving positions. Select who is driving when you enter and hey presto, everything adjusts itself accordingly. Saying that we have never had an issue simply using the mechanical adjustment lever.
