I wonder how close that can design is to the Ford-IVECO Cargo and subsequent Eurocargo. Is they were just cosmetic updates there's a candidate here for a 40yo design.

'And of course the Peugeot diesel is far more reliable than the later vans fitted with the Ford 2.4 dura-thing engines which are truly hateful.'

Interesting - I thought the early 2.5 was the banana engine.

  3. I used to run yellow bulbs when I had BXs, mainly because I was a lot younger then and thought it was 'cool'. Brightness was little different to normal bulbs.

I find it looks silly when I see it on other cars though - just a nother lame scene thing.

Was it ever a thing for french cars in the UK to actually use them?

I don't know exactly what is stripped but it's certainly enabled to remove most data. Some of it will be kept to stop photos being upside down as orientation is stored in the exif meta data.

Interesting, thanks. I just recall uploading a raw image from my phone once on here of a car parked on someone's drive and a poster responded with the exact location - making me think the EXIF location data was maintained. This was about a year ago. I never really post project photos on here for the reason that I CBA to manually EXIF strip etc so wondered how images were actually uploaded on the forum.

  5. Today's discovery: it's possible to photograph your whip while squatting one out on the driveway.

Christmas has been mainly polishing, the bumpers are next and I have never cleaned one up before so that will be an exciting new year adventure.

The more I drive this the more I love it despite its quirks. The engine sound is a smooth, deep grunt which my ears are increasingly tuned to and it steers brilliantly. It's just great, despite apparently being designed without people over six foot tall in mind. 33 smiles per gallon on the first fill up isn't bad either especially in crappy winter start stop driving.

  6. Saab central mounted key holes.

And all the switches for the windows are down there too. For cars marketed as being super ergonomic, they are largely impossible to use without looking at them, especially in RHD versions.

I like having shift lock instead of steering lock though. That's its only plus point I can find.
