  1. That's usually a reason to avoid the area.
  2. The Mexican HSTs were shipped like that too. Bizarre. May also be cheaper, RoRos from Asia to Europe are probably very busy these days.
  3. Bi for export. Random post that came up on my TheFacebook, interesting that they are being loaded into a bulk carrier instead of a roro ship - maybe busses are too large for them which are presumably designed to carry cars only.
  4. These are ridiculously popular in Siberia, pretty much every minicab in Irkutsk was a Probox when I went there a few years ago. European Russia tends to (well, did) buy European stuff whereas Eastern Russia is all functional Japanese cars like this.
  5. @Moderators please can we ban @SEATMad as he will have bankrupted us all shortly with the amount of appetising purchases he keeps posting on here!
  6. THREE-A Also spotted this the other day... on my own car! Nice little touch.
  7. I had one of these a couple of years ago. IMHO, the best vehicle an XUD engine came in. Far nicer and more refined car than the French stuff.
  8. Finally got around to trying out price comparison site stuff and this really is the cheapest I can get it! SD&P, commuting, 13 or so years of NCB etc. Slightly dodgy postcode but first time it's ever gone _up_ vs the previous year.
  9. Yesterday's outing: the excellent Brooklands Museum in pleasantly fair weather. Next door it appears is Mercedes-Benz World.
  10. Stupid question, but why would a diesel engine have a throttle body? I want to say I have come across this before on modern diesels...
  11. Is this unique? Orange County Transit Authority's 'Superbus' of the 1980s. Looks like the air-con system has a reefer power unit. Apparently the design was seen as a good idea for its high capacity and low floor.
  12. It transpires that the latest female from the online dating community also has a Saab. Perfect for dogging.
  13. Haven't looked yet but I believe it's because they have my car details wrong as it lists a 'Volkswagen 900'. I use Hastings Premier which is good as it gives no-quibbles free breakdown - trying to get cover on old cars I've found quite difficult.
  14. Thanks. I guess as they're plastic it's a repainting job, not polishing/cleaning.
  15. Old headlamps disassembled. As predicted, the plastic mirroring has dulled and has no real reflectivity at all. Any DIY ideas for restoration? Google is not massively helpful here.
  16. That's definitely the best chassis any Wright product ever came on. I am pretty sure it's a descendent of the Metrobus with a high speed angle drive and longitudinal Voith gearbox, which was loud, which is important.
  17. My eBay second hand headlights have saved the day and a surprisingly inexpensive MoT and service has been completed. Roll on another year of stylish motoring! (Driver however still lacks style) Note: got tired not long ago of DIY oil changes as they always just made a mess at home so pay for the garage to do them these days.
  18. 🤔 That 15 year no claims bonus really working its magic.
  19. https://www.deutz.com/en/products/engines?tx_deutzengines_pi1[action]=list&tx_deutzengines_pi1[controller]=Engine&tx_deutzengines_pi1[engine]=237&cHash=b833581a9ae112494694cc3a6970a9ee#scope=1 Is Tier iiiA still the EU standard for off-highway applications? @Dave_Q to the dock please
  20. Deutz were always big on air cooled diesel and I believe still make them today for agricultural/industrial applications.
