I've just been sent this from the last owner, it's the car with her daughter back in the early 80's!

Had a bloody awesome weekend of not enough sleep and race cars at the 2CV 24hr. Our car finished 15th but we had a lot of fun getting there. We were third in class at one point!

More later. I'm still quite broken.

Computershite dominates today. Yesterday I chose the wrong car to do an event, so I didn't do the event. If I had been sensible, I would have taken the MGF instead of the E-class and would probably have got there and back fine.

Now the MGF is the only road-legal beast I have because the SLK PCV parts still haven't shown up! Soooo... off to collect some things which I'll put in the right thread, and on the way down the drive I spy a box shoved in the hedge near the postbox.

A parcel from Hermes! It's the thingy to cover the folded roof.

Much tidier. Noticed I'm missing a rubber trim on the driver's door, so another little thing on the list. Then a drive to Warwick, then back to Leicester, then home; brilliant as ever when it's working. Must hold on to context here - if this was 1985, this car would be a 1967 MG. There is no way it would be as competent, enjoyable or even as solid as this is - and this is a bad example of an MGF in many regards. It looks like the ones for not much money still have better sills and arches than this one.

And it is SO much fun. I think it's got a sportier exhaust and intake on it, as it's not a VVC but still gave an XK8 a good chase down the M6 sliproad, and sounds good when wound up to near the redline.

Have a picture of an MG F from a couple of days ago.

    It almost looks nice there.

But... I don't need to drive it now. Because...

IT PASSED! At last. Now to fit new brakes, clean out the PCV system on the inlet side, and put the new Bosch MAF in.

Garage asked how I did a coil in 20 minutes. Garage has been given my number so they can borrow the Laser 4870 anytime

I can't seem to find evidence that suggests that Etonians caused the conflict in Syria. All I do know is that all the pain that the migrants are suffering from is awful and we (everyone, not just Autoshite) need to resolve it someway. But that's got nothing to do with motoring, but is a definite cause of grump in my house.
On another note, are you sorted for a lift? We're in Pembroke next week, heading home via Hay, but there's probably not much room spare in the car for another passenger ( will be five up plus luggage already).

So, last week whilst at BL day we came up with a crazy plan to get Cortinaboy's Morris Marina back on the road ready for next year's show.

The car belonged to his work colleagues dad who bought it new in 1972, who used it for a following 73000 miles before parking it up in 1987. A couple of years ago Cortinaboy bought it, dragged it out of the garage, got it back to his workshop, poked it a bit and then lost heart in it due to rust.

With a new found mojo boost and help from a few of us we went to the workshop and dragged it out.

Pushed it outside and pumped the tyres up when the full mission ahead of us dawned on us!

    It's a bit rusty!

It was like this both sides, this side was made fully from fiberglass! The front valance is non existent.

This lot was from out of the sills!

No great! Still it's all patchable and my other mate can weld and has offered to do it for free so that's half the battle, we even got it running and it runs pretty sweet to be fair, it needs a new fan blower fitted as the old ones seized hence the dash being out.

This Oldsmobile is also in the workshop, it's a real beauty, it has a touch screen TV in the dash!

Yes. There's a green Polo mk3 usually parked (maybe abandoned) on my walking route to work. It has "because Polo" stickered vertically on the nearside of the windscreen. I'm thinking of changing my route to avoid it.
