  1. Another arrival with bonus Haribo here, now proudly displayed in the smallest room (the calendar, not the Haribo).
  2. It probably is an LN as the gross weight is 7.5 tonnes. I've seen a few LNs wrongly recorded as 410Ps, which were 4-tonne vans. In fact the first Google image result for 'Mercedes 410P' is actually a Unimog registered as a 410P.
  3. It was giving me Siku vibes and it seems that is indeed the case. Can't find one exactly the same but this rocket transporter appears to be the same casting in different colours.
  4. So close to the model name but not quite Unless he's the Stig's American cousin Ray. Or his name is Gray and he has an STI.
  5. And here's a great example. Diesel is a bit unusual though as old money types don't normally concern themselves with fuel bills.
  6. Got to be ERF with Foden a strong second, simply because the travelling fairground and circus community love those two brands more than any other. They're also very reluctant to throw anything away so there's been loads of old ERFs and Fodens dumped in their yards that have made it into preservation. Still loads of old 7.5-ton horseboxes about. 1990s Ivecos, Leyland-DAF 45s and MANs are common but I've also seen Mercedes LNs, Ford Cargos and even a couple of AWDs.
  7. So they cut the roof off an obviously British appliance to try and make it look more American?! That was clearly a great success* and I wonder what American kids made of this abomination that looked like no fire engine anywhere in the world.
  8. That hideous blue McDonalds one certainly looks very well worn. The edges are a lot softer than the original and it gives the impression of being on its last legs. I've always wondered why they chopped the roof off, turning a realistic model into an implausible work of fantasy; I had one as a kid and it annoyed me because I recognised it as an Ergo cab but knew they never existed as open-toppers. Deroofing a real one would probably cause the cab to fall apart.
  9. Not seen a lot of old stuff recently but this was the first thing that turned up this morning. Annoyingly there was a lot of traffic coming the other way that marooned me on the wrong side of the road so I couldn't get a clear shot. It's an ex-Army Foden 6x6 wrecker, quite popular with civilian recovery firms since they were demobbed. This one was a bit of a surprise. Hanson Aggregates are rebranding as Heidelberg Materials but I didn't expect this 2003 Volvo to be given the new livery in its 20th year. Its operator obviously has no intention of retiring it any time soon.
  10. Probably G5 WAGEN, which would be a valid Polish personalised plate. Slovakia is the only country I know of that allows all-letter plates but GS isn't a valid Slovakian area code.
  11. Cheers Tim. How very inconvenient of your employer to make Tat Friday a compulsory work from home day. Don't they understand how important your market visits are?
  12. @Datsuncog was this in the £5 or £10 box? If the former can you grab it for me please? Nemesis got a bargain with that Budgie Foden. A battered trailer missing its tractor unit went for almost as much on ebay recently and the only one currently for sale is even worse and £35!
  13. Reading that tale of his bizarre business practices reminded me of Bernard Black from Black Books, someone who runs a shop despite obviously hating people and making no attempt to hide his contempt for his customers. I wonder if Dylan Moran ever visited that shop and took inspiration from him.
  14. Austin 3-litre. Not great by all accounts (although better than their reputation suggests) but I still have an irrational desire to own one.
  15. The Hillman original with the hockey stick lights did, but looked sufficiently different from the Marina. It was the Chrysler facelift that came afterwards with its revised details (especially the new rear end styling) that looks like it was blatantly inspired by the Marina. They turned a car that didn't really look like a Marina into one that did.
  16. A mad one that makes no sense other than confusing people: get a Maestro and a Montego and swap the front ends over to make a Monstro and a Maestego. That should be doable for a lot less than 10k so I'd use the change to create a Princessador in the same vein.
  17. Or how about a 4x4 Triumph 1500 with a Dolomite back axle and a Saab Turbo engine?
  18. The Reliant Scimitar Princess Royal. Comes with a photo album of Princess Anne with her Scimitars and an audio cassette interview discussing her liking for them that the owner can play in response to the inevitable comments.
  19. Top speed limited to 45mph as that's the fastest its target demographic will ever drive. Also has a built-in blue badge holder on the dashboard and a removable shopping cart built into the boot.
  20. Good call! I agree the original front was better so I'd definitely choose that. Basically I want what the V8 would have been if it was launched early on in the 75's life.
  21. Absolutely this. I'd paint it Nightfire Red or Amaranth and I think it'd look awesome, as would an SD1 to the same spec. Or as a more modern equivalent, a Rover 75 V8 Tourer with supercharger, Monogram paint, Personal Line leather and all the nice stuff from the early cars that Project Deprive removed (and the original front end styling - thanks LBF). I fear that might blow the 10 grand budget though.
  22. Hornet - there's a name from the dim and distant past that Stellantis presumably own through a long series of mergers: Hudson > Nash > AMC > Renault > Chrysler > Stellantis. No idea why they chose that name as modern crossover buyers are unlikely to have any knowledge of the Hudson Hornets from 70-odd years ago. I'd never even heard of the Alfa Tonale it's based on, come to think of it.
  23. Apparently some royal might have once had one. No idea who as I've never heard such a story.
