  1. Another weekend trawl, and no new Hot Wheels to be found. In B&M though, there were some different Matchbox to the usual ones that have been warming the pegs since the start of the year. Probably been seen by everyone else on here but trust me, in an area as shit as ours for diecast lately, it was an achievement! Not sure what mix these are from, but no Kadett or Volvo there. Still one of my favourite castings of late, Great colour on this version of the 4 Runner, Another blue SUV... This one goes nicely with the Hot Wheels 928 rally version, I thought.
  2. Don't think we've had this one yet? As driven by Colin Welland in the public information film After Dark, available on YouTube.
  3. Don't know if the Capri has definitely been nabbed, but I'll take it Tim, if it's desperate for a home...
  4. If you're heading back anyway, yes please Tim, but don't make another journey just for that, it can wait till next week. (Was dithering over that Capri myself too...🤣)
  5. Would be interested in the Vanguards Morry Oxford if it'll make up a 3 for £20 combo, if Eddy's after the Crestas?
  6. Most definitely seconded by me. Mrs_201 is half-German and we've been over there a good few times to see family and friends. The most lovely and hospitable people I've ever met. Great roads to drive on too...
  7. Oh yes!!!! Aye, I remember back in the old days of Vanguards' when, as mentioned by MMMk3, usually the box art was of a rough prototype, it was always a nice surprise to find the model inside was much nicer finished and detailed and with far more accurately done wheels, as can be seen with the A35 and especially the Rover which, for one of the super early Enfield era Vanguards, has pretty well rendered early P6 trims modelled. Most Vanguards of that era had a pretty generic steelie and chrome hubcap combo. The Consul is absolutely perfect for my needs. Consuls in rozzer spec are still relatively cheap compared to the civilian versions, but I've always been on the lookout for a dog eared sub-tenner example as I have an aversion to pulling apart a mint and boxed model. Still not sure what I'll be doing with it. With this one being in GT spec with front spots and GT steelies (as opposed to those weird wheels fitted on the prototype on the box!), I've always wanted to do a LeMans Green GT, as the one Vanguards modelled in a box set years ago were riddled with zinc pest and most have disintegrated. Or use as a donor for the spots and wheels for the Purple velvet Granada I have already (which lost its GT wheels long ago to a Daytona yellow Consul base model). My Onyx green Ghia could also do with a replacement baseplate as it was bent up at the front corner from new and had to be bent back. If I do strip it for parts, the remains (shell, interior, glass and slightly bent baseplate will be offered up for sale for £notmuch! Thanks to Tim for going back to the market and getting these for me. I'll fire off some funds shortly. Not often a Tat Friday has my name all over it, but this week's was a classic!
  8. Oh brilliant Tim, cheers. Yeah, if you can grab all three, that's fine, but the Consul is really only required as a wheel and spotlights donor for another I already have so no great panic for that one. The P6 is one Ive never had in early form, despite collecting Vanguards for 27 years, so for £7, I do fancy that one, and the A35 has those hubcap-less steelies that I like.
  9. GAH! Late to the party again. Would like one of the rozzer Consuls, the racing spec A35 or the willow green early P6 on the off chance that they're there on another day please Tim.
  10. Couple of finds at the big George store today.
  11. I think he's the construction worker from The Village People...
  12. For most of my diecast purchases now, I get them sent to my mother's house! I then go up and retrieve them at the weekend when the Mrs is at work. GR8 for marital harmony...🤣
  13. Delivery from Ana's Facebook Hot Wheels site. Been building this box up for a good few months now. Some stuff I would have bugger all chance of finding in the shops. Been after a Moving Parts Moggie for ages. Would have preferred the yellow version, but this anniversary one will do nicely. Love how they actually did the engine in BMC green, On the subject of 70th anniversary editions, I can't resist a Matchbox Fintail, Already got this MR2 as a mainline, I just like the card with this one, Not sure which mix this Audi is from, never seen it in any shops, I got this one cheaply in the small matchbox type packaging, which I set free. This is one of my favourite recent MB castings, the detailing is lovely, This was the only one out of that VW collection I could get, I was really after the Golf, Lastly, I've been after this Treasure Hunt Subaru for ages, but people want daft money for them. Got this a hell of a lot cheaper, I can live with a slight crease in the card...
  14. Finally got around to opening my box from @155V6 cheers fella. Corgi Juniors Metro in red is unusual. Only red variant I can find is the one in Datapost racing livery, seems to have been the only one with black interior too. I already have the small 190 with the same type wheels as the Metro above, but I think this is one of the few castings that looks better with these four-blob wheels. The body casting is of the 2.3-16 version, but the colour, wheels and colour coded grille remind me more of a period '80s high spec 2.0 with the kit fitted. Finally got one of my favourite Corgi Juniors, I didn't even know this existed until fairly recently. Its a pretty good rendition of the Polo and this one's in lovely condition, A couple of Sikus, I do like a yellow car, and considering how bad some Sikus of this era had got, it's not a bad rendition of the A4, Something a bit unusual, an Iveco camper, For its tiny size, the living area isn't badly done, with the sink and cooker visible, and the seating area and table the other side (gotta have somewhere nice to sit and wait for the recovery truck 🤣) Moving onto moderns, Since I was a kid, I've always been attracted to Majorette, since they mostly tend to go for more normal, everyday subjects, this Yaris being a good example, Most of the time you get opening features, without having to pay for the privilege like you have to nowadays with Matchbox... I had to break with tradition and open this one to play with the opening bonnet, I already got the Renault Migraine coupé years ago as the Premium edition in matte black, when Home Bargains were knocking them out cheap. Does look nice in colour though! The Clio was one I never managed to find at the time though, I do like the fact this one is the Renault Sport version, with the right bumpers. I do like a little sporty hatch in yellow. My brother recently had a Clio RS line and it was a pleasant wee thing, Another one I was pleased to find was the Dacia Duster, my wife even liked this one, as it seems that a real life Duster is destined for our household sometime soon...
  15. Had a package arrive from K&R replicas, a smol set of slotmags, so dug out the Atlas Marina plod car. In a rare happening of having an hour or two to myself, I thought I'd have a play around with it. I've always wanted a Vanguards Marina 1.8 TC but they've only released one official TC version, and they go for a bit more than I want to pay. So "de-commissioning" an el-cheapo Atlas Vanguards-based is the option at the moment. Straight away, I had a disaster as the very basic Police lettering looked like it would come off straight away with nail polish remover, as the markings did on the Atlas Cortina I did before. But all it did was just make the lettering bleed into the white, leaving it with two blue doors. Repainting the doors white came out horrible so I just thought I'd do a rough looking '80s boy racer shitbox type TC, like I did with the Cortina. So having removed the Police roof sign, I was left with two small holes to fill. While wondering what to do with the roof, I found some small self adhesive vinyl upholstery repair sheets, so I thought I'd fashion up a webasto type fabric roof., I don't think it looks too bad. I think the slotmags suit the Marina too, The problem was with the Police markings removed, like the Cortina, it seemed to have too much of an expanse of white along the sides. But with the paint on the doors looking so atrocious, and the slotmags fitted, it reminded me of a proper shitbox of a MK1 Escort a mate of my brother had circa 1990, in white, with slotmags and a 1700 X-flow that was probably a bit too powerful for the shonky shell it was in. Anyway, after some substantial welding on the inner and outer sills, this Escort ended up with a fairly wobbly tidemark in silver Smoothrite, as he had no black underseal to hand. So out with the silver Sharpie, and some equally wobbly council tidemarks were added... Ahhh, I can hear the KLF and 808 State wow & fluttering through the Harry Moss stereo and Goodmans speakers from here... Saying that, this probably will be up for a repaint as it's crying out for something like Limeflower or Black Tulip.
  16. Usual lack of pickings at the weekend. Couldn't leave this behind at Asda though. Seeing as I constantly waste my time and fuel trying to find decent mainlines and failing, might as well spend some money on a nice premium... It's a lovely casting, don't think I've seen the FJ60 as a mainline as yet and the Autoshite colour scheme is nice too. It's a big, weighty bugger, probably due to the sheer size of the real thing and the chunky metal base on this one. As expected, the detailing is pretty nice, Shame about the back to front rear tampo though, 🤣 OMG M8 factory error, worth ££££££
  17. Yes, that appears to have fixed it! (fingers crossed.) I can get on the forum now on data. Many, many thanks for sorting that Si, you're a legend. 👍
  18. Yes, I can currently only access the site on wi-fi, but I came out of wi-fi and pasted that link into my browser and it came up fine, if that makes sense. FWIW, All our phones are on 3 mobile data, I can access the site on my wife's and daughter's phones no problem on the data. My own phone's only a couple of months old, but I had no problem getting on the site on data, up until last Thursday. It came on briefly today, but I could only get the homepage, I wasn't signed in and could not access the sign-in page.
  19. Thanks for getting back to me. I've been up in Scotland with the truck for two days, and for reasons above, I've not been able to access the site. Yes, I've tried the link above and could read the text.
  20. Another arrival. Got this cheap off eBay as the piece that holds it to the plastic plinth is missing and one of the mirrors had been bent and snapped off. One of Vanguards' best castings I think, the MK3, and Aztec gold is a lovely colour. Apart from the vinyl roof, it's a near enough match for Ray Doyle's steed in the later series of The Professionals. I have already got the Vanguards-based Corgi twin pack with VHK 11W and 12W, so this can go on display with the Vanguards Sweeney and Professionals themed cars Ive got and leave the twin pack cars all nice in the box... One big bugbear is that they didn't cast a number plate plinth into the front bumper so the plate is printed straight onto the bumper which doesn't look great... Being a later release, it has the upgraded interior detail, featuring a representation of Carla check fabric on the seats,
  21. Further to this, I started being able to get on the site yesterday but today, it's back to only being able to get on via wi-fi. This is the message I now get, Previously, it was the "took too long to respond" message. Also, after every time I fail to get on using 3, when I go on via wi-fi, I have to sign back in every time. Any ideas please guys, before I have to traipse into town back to the phone shop?
  22. Since Thursday, after around the time the downtime finished, I've not been able to view the site on my mobile internet, I can only view it on wi-fi. I'm with 3, and now with their mobile contracts, safesearch is locked on, which has been the case with this phone. Thinking that the site's name might have suddenly triggered the safesearch filter, I went down the 3 shop, and arranged for safesearch to be turned off. It's off now, but I still can't access the site, only on wi-fi. I'm a complete doofus when it comes to tech, so anyone have any ideas guys? Cheers.
  23. Crikey, I had that Martini liveried Bora too. Never knew who made it as it came in a set of three, all in plain white card boxes with a BMW M1 and a yellow Porsche 928, all with the same wheels, so presumably by the same manufacturer. The M1 had a small lever under the front bumper which raised and lowered the headlights. Had the usual fruitless search for any new Hot Wheels and Matchbox. Morrisons, 2 x B&M, Tesco, Asda - nil. Interesting developments at Asda though. For the first time, we actually have HW Premiums, though not a collection I was hoping for... Someone who works in the toy department must love the Crass & Spurious as they have other cars from the series in different scales, That 1/43 Civic was actually quite nice, as was the blue Porsche behind, but they were twin packs. Well, couldn't leave empty handed, so... TBH I was kind of torn between the blue '69 Camaro and this, but I can't resist a Plymouth GTX, one of my favourite American cars of that era. The Real Rider wheels are nicely done and reasonable copies of Halibrands, Only 5 in this series, but at £9 a throw, I'm not sure if I'll be aiming to complete it. The Camaro and Land Cruiser are nice though. Had a quick look in Smyth's today, but as is typical for the one near us, there were plenty of Premiums, but not the sought after ones. They did though have one solitary F&F Alfa Sprint GTA. I was tempted, heavily, but I was good and walked away. (So I'll probably end up going there during the week...)
  24. @Split_Pin, any good to you? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/314782767292?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=e377q3ebsbc&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=73qFTJ91TXm&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  25. Well, I've not been able to get on the site at all, after the downtime finished, until a few minutes ago. So that's pissed on my Tat Friday chips somewhat! Found some M case Hot Wheels in Morrisons yesterday. Filled a few gaps, but still can't get hold of an Alfa or AMG Merc. Suppose I had a result finding this, it still seems to be a sought after one, judging by them selling for about £4 on the Facebook sites... It's a nice thing though.
