Right here goes ..... no major epics.
 
Collected johnf at some unearthly hour this morning (unearthly for a saturday anyway) and drove 60 minutes from Bradford to Oldham. Found the sellers house with no problems whatsoever.
 
ANyway onto the car ....
 
The previous owner has had it for about 10 years, but shortly after he bought the oil cooler exploded, so he put the car in his garage and forgot about it. Roll forward to last year when he came across a 3.0 V6 from an Omega, so this got fitted into the cally, after using it as a daily driver for the last 6 months he found it too thirsty for everyday use, hence the sale.
 
Its had a load of new bits including cambelt, stainless exhaust, oil cooler, sensors etc and has done about 10,000 miles since the engine was fitted.
 
I drove it home to Hebden Bridge where I live with johnf following in my discovery, we left the discovery at my house and then headed over to John's with him driving the cally.
 
1st impressions are superb, loads of grunt, nice smooth V6. Could do with the track rod ends replacing soon and retracking.
 
There is alledgedly a slight water leak, although in 70 miles today, it doesn't appear to have lost any, but will be keeping in eye on that.
 
The seller also gave me a copy of all the photos from during the work he's done to it.
 
Anyway, heres a couple of pics from collectiom, some decent ones will follow later when I dig the proper camera out.
 
Hoping to take it on the coniston meet if anyone wishes to see it for real
 

 

Might be worth adding re: Austria, I fell foul of the vignette rule several years ago - didn't realise that one was required and got pulled within 2 minutes of joining a motorway. 120 euro on the spot fine - cost of a vignette is less than a tenner and can be purchased outside of Austria from filling stations near the border

I feel a bit inadequate now because of my lack of plant, but do have this which is used for cutting the front field and moving general rubbish around the manor.
 

 
 
My log splitter is a Machine Mart special, which since we converted it to "single hand operation" is surprising effective
