And the grip and handling can be improved further by period alloys and roll bars off more sporting versions like say the Gti
Loverly.

Using Rolls Royce parts to fix a British Leyland van, I doubt anybody has done that before!

Yes but not that Frontera.
The Jazz / MU / mk1 Frontera are basically the same thing.

Enter the plate on DVLA and see if it clashes with a UK-registered car.

Ages! When I finally found the right menu I found there is an automatic setting so that's it futureproofed. Merc A Klass.

Corsa did it automatically. First car I've had that does!
I will be making up for it tomorrow though with the torturous act that is altering the clock on the Sprinter...

The Lexus just knows, somehow. Wizardry maybe.
Or possibly radio waves?

You mean like the AEC engined and wilson gearboxed Optare Solo and Dennis Dart that was on Eastenders recently? Surely not.

I think because the fuel flap is there?
Too slow typing.....

Nicola H reacted to Steve79 in Once seen, can't be unseen
Probably because behind the panel to right of the door lock is the fuel filler cap

Merc is a possibility if the right one came up, I have a real aversion to Audi. Years ago I drove little else, then VW started their marketing and I stopped. quattro, Procon 10, 10 year warranty, flush glass. Audi were innovators, and cars made by engineers. Now they have huge grilles, slick interiors and in my experience, are pretty unreliable. I had more newish VW group cars on my truck than anything else. Which is why I'm wary of any VAG group car, they are very nice on the surface. I have seen beyond the soft damping and textured plastic.... If you had spent as much time as me getting steel bolts out of aluminium housings, or extracting broken tensioner bolts you'd understand..
I do like a Yeti and Superb though. But I'd always be on edge. I love the look af a Passat CC, but they all share the same stuff . DSG scares the shit out of me. They are taking over the world. The chap I took to the airport the other day, he collects his brand new Golf GTI in 2 weeks, from the factory. As he is a business user, it is 150 euro a month all in. That is unbelieveable, but probably the reason VW group is king.

Anyone who thinks Hatchloons look good should have a meeting with a 50 cal pencilled into their diaries.

What the bloody hell is that?
Other than "hideous" of course?

Nicola H reacted to Mrcento in Best looking saloon cars on the road today.
I'd happily have a 159 estate. The saloon is nice looking but the sportwagon is gorgeous. Which alone, makes the saloon unappealing.
I quite like that A3 saloon too (even as a non Audi fan), just think the glass is a little too pinched though, slightly lower metal waistline and it'd be even nicer.

Nicola H reacted to 320touring in Best looking saloon cars on the road today.
Basically, no one cares about the saloons;)
V90 is a handsome bastard, as is the 159 sportwagon.
It's all about the estates chaps, all about the estates.
Although if forced to buy a saloon..
An xfR please

Looking at this summary version, I reckon they’ll be ok getting an IVA: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/individual-vehicle-approval-iva-for-cars-help-to-get-a-pass/individual-vehicle-approval-iva-for-cars-help-to-get-a-pass
It’s mostly sensible stuff like are there any sharp bits where they would do harm and are the wires and pipes installed in a professional way (by modern standards - I think my FE Victor, for instance, would have failed on wiring from the factory).

One of my favourite moments was the fully functional cardboard heater unit. Great stuff.

In fairness to modern shite, if you watch YouTube videos of people binning it at the Nurburgring like I may do, you'll see how bloody effective they are at ensuring the occupants can hop out afterwards.

I must take a photo of a Romanian-plated RHD Audi A5 near me which bears exactly the same plate as a UK-plated Audi A5 on DVLA....

Aren't the rail wheels on those things driven by the main wheels, kind of a friction drive setup?

It was Brumby’s fault. As we all know he was a big man but out of shape. Even more so after a 50ft drop onto his car
