Ooh, 130LSE - top of the range I had a half share in one, but took pity on my mate with the fact I wasn't able to spend anywhere near so much time on it as him, so donated my half back.

That Humber looks great , just like the one in Get Carter. Proper disreputable down at heel gangsters car from the 60's early 70's.

    Hello!
When I first came across a link to this forum I became an instant fan. I was truly gawd thankingly grateful I'd found out that it wasn't a rare abnormality of mine, other folks also like this stuff

So, what makes me realise this, perhaps a quick run down of the vehicles I've owned - some not so shite, but some pretty well there.

First car, base model 1981 Mini City, shared wiv my mum cos I earned bugger all while I was at college. Now I think about it college also introduced me to auto-shite. I did my City & Guilds in Motor Vehicle Technology. In the workshops I was strangely drawn to a Triumph Herald chassis, said to have been given to the college after use for several years as a driveable demo chassis for shows. Loved working on the engine.

In the workshop there was also a Renault 12, a Maxi, a Granada, Mk2 Escort, Datsun - can't remember the model, Metro, and no doubt several other old unassuming motors now drooled over.

After this I had a Maxi - usual BL shite brown colour, then a lovely low mileage Triumph Acclaim. Sadly wheel arch rust was well advanced it failed the next MOT. Replaced by another Mini, but this time a 1960 Austin Seven in Farina Grey.

After this, 1956,66 and 67 Hillman Minxes in my bid to have an everyday classic. Then a 1968 Cambridge, sold on to fund a lovely restored 1963 Morris Oxford I used everyday for 7 yrs as a commuter car. At the time I also had a crusty Thames 300E van with sidevalve engine and 3 speed box. Bringing me crashing to earth was marriage then daughter, no money for a big fleet so ran a Mk3 Golf and bought a Model T Ford as a once in a lifetime opportunity came up. Reality of the costs of these dictated sale 2 yrs later! LoL.

Now I have a '88 Skoda 120L, an '87 Zastava Yugo 311 and an '02 Megane to runabout.

Looking forward to seeing more of other peoples shite

Went to a collectors fair today in a village hall in the middle of nowhere in a desperate attempt to get something for Mrs Rocker's Christmas present that didnt involve leaving the receipt inside.    Not much luck unfortunately but came home with brochures for a Panhard 24CT, Rover 2000 boot-mounted spare system and Citroen AMI6.   Oh, and a pretty decent Dinky Ferrari for £2.   Hope she likes 'em...

I agree with a lot of you, BUT my missus has a 52 1.0 yaris which does 44+ mpg easily, can do more, as she bats along in it nicely, had it 6 years, done 70k in it. Needed two sets of front tyres one rear set. And it failed it's first mot last year on a wishbone bush. Needed nothing else apart from plugs, pads etc. it takes something daft like 3.7 litres of 5w30 once a year, hasn't got a renewable fuel filter, plugs and filters are dirt cheap.

It's never even hinted at breaking down, running rough or misbehaving it's self. It's been in two crashes, both not* her fault.

She does 300 mile a week going to work, she don't like cars at all, so it's pretty much perfect for her.

I can't think of a better car for her to use??? Bigger would surely mean more money? I love big cars and have often run them and I run a stag to work as often as I can afford to fuel it.

We might of lost a bit in depreciation but these hold the money pretty well, and it didn't cost 12 grand or anything daft like that when we bought it. I reckon we have got our monies worth.

But she would probably chop my cock off if I said " yeah sold the yaris, got you a marina instead"

Not sure whether any new car offers this level of grimness inside:

I'd need a healthy dose of antidepressants to be able to sit in this for more than 3 minutes without committing suicide.
Add spending 7k in 3 years for upkeep alone and I start to understand what makes people go on a killing spree before they end their own life.

I have to put mine in sideways to get it into my lockup so it unfortunately takes up the space of 2 cars.

Ha!  Funnily enough he does also have two front wings and a full set of doors that he's offered me a deal on...  I haven't seen it yet but not expecting too many horrors.  The door bottoms are all on their way, and one in particular appears to have had intimate relations with some Kurust and a rattle can.  I'm hoping it won't need anything major for another 12-18 months, as I've got a load of bodywork to pay for on the Jag this winter.

It's not an S but it does have the same alloys - didn't the S have the same engine, but with a load of options and some special (extra-shite) colours?
