  1. The tree tour sounds like a good plan. A very AS thing to do.
  2. I might have to go there too and see The Old Tree, as I'm also boring.
  3. Oh blimey, not a good end to the day at all. But at least it wasn't a 3 hour wait I suppose!
  4. Yes thanks @inconsistant for organising. Good to see you all and a nice, relaxed venue too. The Shad in motion. Thanks @Weird Car for letting me sit in it.
  5. Bought this last week as something to do. It came with half a tank of pez so have a viaduct shot instead. 1.2 HLX with working City mode. Paint is thoroughly knackered but it drives fine, and will do as a stop gap whilst I sort the Xedos out come MoT time next month. I initially thought the tow bar was for trailer tip runs, but the seller used it to occasionally shift his MG Midget about.

Blimey, that's a BFO garage. Potential use of it 4evar hopefully. Should help the shite logistics.
  7. I'm glad I'm not the only person who considers a 2005 car a modern. Well, I'm sure loads on here are of the same view. But I just felt like saying it. All them computers they contain innit.
  8. Yes I was only 200 yards up the road when it just died on me. Naturally I spent three weeks trying to diagnose the issue, replacing the crank sensor for one thing, whereas I should've checked the belt first. Never mind, lesson learnt. The sobering thing is the day before I did 120 miles in it, mostly on the M20. Daren't think of the outcome should it have slipped the belt on a smart section.
  9. Not to worry if it's too much trouble but that would be great. The one I had was a bit ropey so didn't get a chance to ride it properly. Although maybe that's just how they are...!
  10. @CaptainBoom If hand delivery proves too much faff just pop it in the post, and thanks for doing this!
  11. Poxy thing. You poor bastard etc etc. Sorry I can't offer anything more constructive.

A pair of rear tyres for this last week. GT radials were a conscious decision because I like the bulgy sidewalls and tread pattern (which is similar to the HFM Goodyear EfficientGrips), and they seem to be doing alright on the Xedos. The next idea was to do an oil change, so assume the position... But the sump plug is 25mm and I've only got a 24mm socket so that'll have to wait. I was going to Pela it but I forgot I need a new tube for that, although I might just bin it and get one of those 12v extractors for future jobs. The plan is to do one change, run it for a bit, then do another and the filter as it looks like it'd benefit from two lots. Anyway, the upshot was all I achieved for now was changing the spark plugs and the air filter. Exciting update eh. But it was still cold and I was knackered so it'll have to do!
  13. I've got one of those and it's proved invaluable on several occasions. Just wondering if you've got a duff one. Mine even survived the Vel Satis fire as it was in a plastic box in the boot. Stank of smoke for bloody ages mind.
  14. Same problem here after I ordered 20 litres of 10w 40 from them, just got a refund instead. But on reflection I don't need that much as it's only the 940 that uses it, so has done me a favour not turning up. Plus I found 4 litre of the stuff I didn't realise I had!
  15. Always worth telling that story Wuv. Weapons grade nutjob.
  16. Must admit all I did was blez around London in it, so I'm glad it managed 50 and got you home! Annoying about the misfire, comes and goes that issue. I'm also glad you've finally got it as I didn't want it to leave the AS fold.
  17. Yet another year of Esure being the cheapest for me by a long chalk, despite their excess being hefty (but I couldn't give a toss about that). Their renewal price was similar to the new quote I generated, as I had to tweak the policy this year to including occasional commuting. £260 for the Xedos. 40 something with an outer London postcode, 8,000 miles pa. The Volvo 940 is also with them. As usual the classic insurers aren't really interested in 90s stuff. FJ quoted me £245 so I just went with Esure Flex for £250. Better T&Cs.

Thanks! I'm hoping the alarm doesn't work at all now, I just find them annoying. I've put a Stoplock on it anyway, in case anyone gets ideas. That 240 looks pleasant. GIB!

I'll bear that in mind next time I'm in Rochdale, thanks. Which is never.
