  1. Is it a sin to have always admired Nissan Maximas? Not sure what I like best the beigeness of the comfy velour, or the vertical depreciation curve. £789, ignore the screen sticker! https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201707127313216?fromSavedAds=true&advertising-location=at_cars
  2. Apologies if this has been on before, I've been away from these shores for a while, sworn off clunkers and tempatation. "1997 Former CEO executive car For Sale" https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1055964 "Recently used to collect an engine ( in boot ) which will be removed before sale." Hold me back.
  3. Wierd. Couldnt get into it, might try again but that annoying bint doing the voiceoiver is the killer punch for me.
  4. Ooh "my dad had one of those" etc. (coupe) and he regularly used to curse Adams & Gibbon...
  5. That Lotus one is my picture, taken as a callow youth in 1981-2 IIRC. Wanted that yellow Esprit so badly.
  6. Last call before this wheel goes out for the pikeys. Shame really.
  7. That's the trouble innit, I have about 75% of everything there albeit cast to the 4 winds in various trays and drawers! BUT it would be nice to have it all together PLUS all my ratchets are knackered and replacing individual pieces is disproportionately expensive. However the tumble drier just decided to go pop today, so it looks like this will go on next year's Santa list yet again
  8. Just a heads up for any peeps wanting a nice tool set; this is the cheapest I've seen Halford's biggie for a long time, £130 ends today. http://www.halfords.com/workshop-tools/tools/socket-sets/halfords-advanced-professional-200-piece-socket-and-ratchet-spanner-set
  9. Still got a couple of Corvette models I bought when it closed down
  10. Freehand wheelarches, banana shaped rollover bar, I always thought if painted pink they would resemble Penelope Pitstop's car. Farking hideous though they were, they are a reminder of a simpler times for sure.
  11. Completing that blank chequebook restoration of your mid 80s Fiesta/Escort/Orion? Father in law came across a set of these 13" trims in the shed, anyone's welcome before they hit the bin. This is a nicked image but condition is similar ie. a wave with a rattlecan would be nice.. Also a 15" alloy from a mid 90s Astra, Calibra, Vectra etc. Coupe of tiny nicks but put away shortly after a very nice refurb so still glittery. Tyre is junk, no centre cap. All free to collect from Durham or Hartlepool.
  12. English CSE grade 5 or voice text who knows? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2001-PEUGEOT-406-COUPE-V6-BLUE-/201423208647? Pics on a dual carriageway so home may be no oil painting Too many caps-locked hilarities to quote but, "I HAVE 2 KEYS AND STRAPS IN SERVE BOOKS ARE AS FOLLOWED 2057824048379323654046205 CAR NOW HAS 157690 " FSH eh? "THE LEFT SIDE OF CAR IS ALMOST PERFECT THE RIGHT SIDE IS NOT " Well you can't have everything can you? I HAVE SENT LOG BOOK OFF IN MY NAME NOT BACK YET SO CAR IS TAXED IF I DE SIDE TO SELL I CAN ALL WAYS FORWARD IT ON TO U ARE DROP OFF IF YOU LOCAL . AT LEAST U WILL NOT HAVE TO TAX IT FOR A FEW DAYS Seems legit. Better stop taking the P as noticed he's about half an hour away and will probably be round to fill me in
  13. Starting to go for big dollars now but reminds you how sweet these Novas were until a generation of tossposts larged it up with them. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vauxhall-Nova-1-3-SR/221868209191?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D33052%26meid%3D769fdeceb59f465c8bb7014c80557c4d%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D6%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D311437544860 "As already said there are several extras included with this sale which together are worth several hundred pounds. They are:.......* Whatever fuel is in the tank (its just off full at the moment)........" Wow thanks
  14. Thank go for this thread I thought I was alone and a wierdo. I've had multiples of quite a few cars, my amateur psychological diagnosis was that it was some nerdish obsessive compulsion to finding the ultimate colour/trim/engine spec. I also think most cars are pish with very few standout exceptions (which tend to end up on the drive).
  15. Driveshafts, gaiters etc, after changing a few over the years I decided they weren't worth the effort and one of the few jobs I hand straight to a garage for what it costs. Changed a few handbrake cables over the years but not lately; the AWD ones were the worst, the FWD ones didn't seem to bad, just some rear footwell carpet to shift to thread them through. Are you sure they are seized and you need new ones? If just stretched there's loads of adjustment if you slacken off fully at the handbrake and reset the inner shoes.
