Made it home fine and a big thanks to @DavidB for the painless transaction.
David is in the US of A at the mo so I was picked up by brother Terry who's an absolute top chap.
Lovely little area where he is as well, I believe it won village of the year a couple of years back? Port Sunlight was a real find as well, so pretty, reminds me of the old Llandarcy village before they bulldozed it for the M4.
Came home on 1/4 tank as well, I am impressed.
Lovely wafty experience but still actually handled well on the twisty roads of Wales.
Cruise was a delight and I forget how painless that makes a journey.
Bypass through Newtown was immense as well, getting stuck behind folk doing 40 in every NSL not so but they were easy to pass in the Merc, shifts when it needs to, just that nice kind of midrange that derv mercs like, don't rev it high, use the torque.
Just got to tax it oldskool style in a P.O tomorrow which will be a fun* experience no doubt.
Ironically drove past at least 3 speed cops all of whom made no effort to stop a tax dodger, must remember the good days.

I think he's brilliant. His autism is possibly the reason some people are unsure of him (not saying that's the case with you) and he's a proper champion for wildlife/animal causes. The fact he gets up the noses of the inbred fox hunting twats is the icing on the cake.

    More KSeries true facts:

The cup holder in an MGF is the same size as a bottle of K-Seal.
The MGF sales brochure gave the boot size dimensions as ‘adequately holds eight 5l bottles of Highland Spring’.
if using Waze in any KSeries engined car, the adverts always bring up the nearest scrap yard.

I have to agree, the ECP Lion batteries aren’t that good, they seem to drain easily, deffo the Poundland Kodak of car batteries.
You would have better luck clamping jump leads to the testicles of an actual lion than depend on one of those!

I like tose Saturns, they are pretty weird looking, it’s like they designed their cars to look futuristic, but five years in the future futuristic.

I saw this in South Pasadena in LA a few months ago, and was delighted by    a) how mashed it was and b) how it was driven out as it wasn’t there the next day.

We are stricter over things like this here and I’m amazed at seeing cars being driven missing front bumpers like it was nothing.

Thought I'd take advantage of a flooded riverbank to hone my offroad driving skills in the Panda 4x4. Was much fun, particularly going through big muddy puddles.

At least, until the really tempting looking puddle that was deeper than the front end of a Fiat Panda, submerged the air intake and stalled the car as water started pouring in.

Climbed out of the sunroof, ran home, got the 405 GLx4 and a rope. Pulled the Panda out, stopped the 405, Panda kept coming, rope hit the back wheel and started to pull the Panda towards the 405; jumped out and put myself between the two cars. Popped the 405 back home, collected the Panda and drove it around a mini roundabout the wrong way holding the driver's door open to empty the water out.

My father did similar years ago when we visited my grandfather in hospital, we were a bit late for visiting and the car park was full, but an empty space was spotted. Dad reversed in and came to a very abrupt stop. The space was empty because it contained a raised brick built manhole chamber. Damage to the Mini traveller was limited to the number plate lights and a nasty mark on the half-timbering to the doors.

I've just remembered an incident with the same Mini when I was driving. One of our neighbours had a pet goat, it was often tethered outside their place on the grass verge. I was quite happily driving along, just as I was noticing that for a change it was grazing the opposite verge to usual its tethering chain, which I hadn't noticed, caught the front of the Mini under the headlights. As I braked sharply the goat flew across the road and the front of the car, before coming to rest on its normal verge. It calmly got up and started eating again, once I had regained composure I popped in to tell the owners that they might need to think about shortening the tethering chain.

Released in 1985 during the original run of the Transformers 'generation 1', 'Steamer' was based on an MGF car which transformed into a kettle.
Armed with a gun that fired high temperature OAT (green or pink) against rival Decepticons, and a steamcloud that provided cover for his fellow Autobots in battle, his position as stated on his 'tech specs' was 'Hard Shoulder Surveillance.'
