Pre accident this was a beautiful car, I will always remember shitting myself receiving the call from the lady witness at the scene on your phone, me arriving avoiding the traffic backed up by driving along the pavement in the capri caused some amusement though, that was your lucky night for sure bud,

Blooming heck the weather has been dry and bright on a day off so I have finished the floor sections, the front is now fully welded to the car, I had to cut and make a filler piece for 1 section as I wasn't happy with the fitment where it met the inner sill, they are pattern floors so im not at all surprised, I have also made and welded in filler pieces for the little bits you don't get with them, seeming as its all solid now I have removed the box section i used as door gap bracing which feels a little milestone im leaving the side to side bracing for now as they give a great earth point for my welder, the only thing I have to finish inside the car is the seat crossmember repair

Well guys 5 years of running this daily took its toll some bubbles were popping up so it was time for a refresh so I went mad with the grinder and a 1mm cutting disk, I've replaced the rear inner and outer arches, sill backs, strengthened and up behind the sill, repaired the 2 front wings on the leading edge under the bumper and under the trim where ford decided it was a good idea to leave a hole and they rusted and a couple more localised repairs on the rear panel and roof, I hadnt ground the welds on the repairs flush on the primer pictures, I got it back on Tuesday after building it back up, I put a new sunroof seal on and had the windscreen replaced at the same time

well ive shown you my long term and probably upset people for what ive done, now its time to redeem myself, heres my sierra i have owned for a year and a half.

this is when i 1st got her, she looked good but the paint wasnt good the bumpers were scraped, the sill backs and part of the archs had corrosion, the headgasket was in early signs of failure and quite a few other problems, but she was straight and original

i sorted the problems and drove her around, until one fateful evening i got hit in the rear

luckily just cosmetic, then discussions happened with my mate who owns a bodyshop, he let me work with him.

it started with dents sorted and sections of arch repair panels being let in

then sill bottoms but then it turned into, this small imperfection will let it down

then it turned into we may as well just paint the whole of it

here it is flatted before polishing

he polished the boot, back and top of the quarters so i could put the spoiler and bumper on

    heres the finish

here it is polished up and out in the open

i gave the suspension an overhaul, replaced brake calipers pads and discs, then got a tasteful stainless exhaust made

heres a picture taken at fordfair

all ive done since is drove and enjoyed it

Whilst replacing a Sierra fuel tank is easy, I recommend going for a new tank, they all rot out in the seam, I also suggest you have new tank fixings on standby, I usually replace with stainless nuts bolts and washers, you can still get the original type though

Its had a new timing chain kit and genuine ford MLS headgasket too, ive had an aftermarket hydraulic tensioner fail after less than 15000 miles destroying a cylinder head in the process, do you want to know something interesting about them they run pistons with small cutouts suitable for 16v heads, heres a pic which shows it
