That will do for me then, the Safrane lives on. Still need to source a spring seat for her though. But it's great to have a local garage that is sympathetic to our old shite.
Now I can concentrate on getting Olga fixed for the summer. No more car buying distractions.

She rests at her new home. A quick wash on the outside. Inside the radio is tuned to the stations I listen to. I had a good check of what buttons do what. There is some sticky plastic, as mentioned in a previous Petrolblog video, I have tried isopropyl alcohol and it's better but still not perfect. I will look into other options. Service history is mad! Everything has been covered. 23 services in the book upto 127000 miles. I am missing the drivers handbook so will be looking for one of those. 4 almost new Falken tyres. A few foibles to be expected from a 25 year old Renault, but otherwise a bloody brilliant car. I feel very lucky to have been given the opportunity to own her.

Made it to my overnight stop at my favourite hotel near Preston. Of course it has started to rain but I don’t care. A nice leisurely run back north tomorrow.
Many thanks to @Tenmil Socket for the toolbox which will be most useful. For now, beer and food!

Destination achieved, nice cup of tea with @jonathan_dyane and then headed south. Stopped at my old university friends place in St Helens to top up with LPG and now waiting for another shiter to finish work so I can make my second collection after which I can start heading north. Only as far as Preston tonight

Blimey a rivian EV truck in the uk and I wish ford was more generous with cable ties as the trunking falls off exposing the ad blue pipework, done half my ambulance fleet at base.

Been over to Enviro Strip in Tamworth [which has featured in Car S.O.S], as my Brother needs a few panels to be treated before fitting etc.
Thankfully Tim Shaw wasn't there, but a bloody great big pothole hidden by the rain caught the bottom of my Stilo front bumper. Good job it already has a few scars, but it still pissed me off !
Had a nice chat with one of the staff there about our Fiat's and cars in general though. Apparently Fuzz Townsend owns a MK1 Fiat Multipla, which I guess is the one in the background of his workshop in a few episodes.
Hopefully the panels should be ready for collection next week, then I can make a return trip [ avoiding the holes ] and let the bodyshop do there thing.

stuboy reacted to JMotor in JMotor's project car thread. Corsa B progress!
Bit of a milestone here.
Bodyshop has cracked on. I don't have many in progress photos yet. A pal took these of them colour sanding the car.
Then, I got the message to say it's ready to pick up. That happened today.
I'm really happy with the car. Such a boost to see this now in a single colour!
Can't be having everything one way though!
I love the misery! 😆

stuboy reacted to bigstraight6 in Yet another impulse buy..
I’ve bought a convertible for Wifey BS6 as she’s really missed her Mercedes SLK after it was sold last year, standing by for being ribbed about buying a VAG dirty diesel! It’s a great car this, recently had a new turbo, clutch, cam belt and water pump, tyres, full service and a few mods and remap which makes it rather rapid, and a bargain purchase price hence the impulse buy.
