  1. Looks like merc w210 front seats
  2. Yours and @cort16 ‘s look fantastic! On the styling, i read one review that thought the styling has dated badly, whereas i think they look better now than they did new- that might just me getting used to the lines?
  3. Im a fair bit shorter (6ft) and whilst i found the z3 seat too high (felt like i was sitting on rather than in the car) the z4 has a more spacious cabin and more adjustable driving position (the wheel also adjusts for rake and reach)
  4. Lop sided Vdp1300 now on its journey to the new owner. Always a good one for people of a certain age to reminisce…..
  5. I remember you sorting the rear wings. The ones on this one are bubbling up. I think they suit dark metallics best 100%
  6. This z4 is doing bmw stuff. The radiator is bowed out at the bottom and weeps when warmed up- ordered a new rad- £56. Its a pattern part but this is a budget z4 and the OEM stuff is pretty much a service item anyway!
  7. Youve summed up this one quite well 😂
  8. Love the daewoo ad. Agreed - its brilliant exactly as it is hopefully they preserve rather than restore.
  9. no just grabbed a hurried pic just then (i didnt notice the other rainbow) Its in the other pic too….
  10. Took the latest jalopy out for a drive on damp and undulating moorland roads… Love it! Although new front dampers and better rear tyres are required (or maybe a lighter right foot/ better weather)
  11. Jet to host a millenium barn dance at yeovil aerodrome. Properly policed, it must not become an all night rave. Nice 800!
  12. Fleet news- The lop sided VDP1300 has sold to a shiter and is due to be collected in the next few days The fiesta , meanwhile was far to nice for my lifestyle, (kids, dogs, Russian GF caning cars etc) And its lovely interior and unwelded silla would probably succumb to the Dartmoor climate pretty fast. Despite its AS credentials, it didnt find a home here. Happily a good condition low mile small auto is an easy sell to the general public. I decided to move those two on and replace with something completely different for the same money- I dont like silver cars, nor cars with blacked out wheels. And im allergic to facebook marketplace. But i had to get down and dirty for a cheap z4. As a slightly scruffy 2.5 manual with heated seats (WBOD kudos) at a very decent price, i did a buy. Obviously it was at the bottom end of the market- and i cant get over what good value these are right now. Its not really shite at all, in fact its such a great vehicle for so little money its the ultimate antidote to the state of the used car, and classic car market. When they were launched i REALLY disliked the styling, but over the years its grown on me. I would have liked a 3.0 manual in gunmetal grey with red leather- but i wanted one for rock bottom money and a functioning one of those is more expensive. I found the driving position in the z3 a bit odd (i remember wanting the seat base to be lower and more angled) but this is much easier to get comfortable in. The rear tyres slither about on the damp dartmoor roads, and the dampers are a bit tired on the front end, but otherwise its great.
  13. Meanwhile, in a deal with @Tubbo , he has the beetle, and i have some money and a 1996 fiesta 1.25 Ghia CTX auto 5 door (take a breath) Its a bit of a survivor, 31k on the clock, owned by an elderly childrens author for many years (it came with a signed book of hers) “I’ll take it, in white!” Said Bev excitedly as she thumbed the dealer’s brochure. Comes also with the usual books, and the lovely 1.25 engine. It also has the curious cvt box, which is fun to punt it along with. Im trying to decide how well matched this combo is. Full credit to @tubbo for giving it the tlc (alloys, cambelt, servicing, cosmetics amongst a host of other stuff) So in the VDP1300 (auto) and fiesta ghia (auto) i have upmarket wood* clad giffer transport of the 70s and 90s fully covered.
  14. i cant see any obvious leaks, ive got a little hand help pump i got off e bay years ago, maybe i should just get pumping to the correct height and see what happens? (iirc you can use antifreeze/distilled water for fluid) #hydrolasticclueless
  15. its just the side nearest the camera. I drove it to work and by lunchtime one side had sagged down
  16. Um, i dislike other road users? The forumite- displays a discrete sticker on the back to signal affiliation. If a one make club the car will be pristine, possibly with much thought gone into valve cap choice. Often seen in small groups, for which a collective term may exist.
  17. Works car park today with ADO16 being used as intended… 1. smol car is smol 2. OAP perving over it
  18. I waved goodbye to the daimler today, met an old forum friend ( @Sigmund Fraud ) and recieved an old friend in a swap (VDP 1300) Dr Fraud took the bold step of driving away in the Daimler, i thought id cracked its reliability issues but it likes to play up when your are least expecting it- so its far from certain he will make it back under its own power- he is definitely braver than i am! It was great to meet up with Sigmund again, and good to have the VDP 1300 back. The Daim also now has a far more skilled and knowledgeable owner to care for it. After the ministrations of the Dr, The VDP1300 now sits at the correct height, has working locks, has nicer carpets, a gearbox service and a bit of a tune up, amongst other things.
