I've not MOT'd my bay window van since it became historic & tax free in 2019.

    That'll do nicely.

Well this is my cup of tea! Often see these over in NL. I may be heading over there later this year if parts still need fetching over.

Fresh atf fluid and filter appears to have completely cured the CLK which is now shifting better than it ever has, no clunking, no slippage, perfect. Tracking now way out & some suspension clunking but that’s a doddle to sort compared to new gearbox.

I'm calling it a day.  Not making ends meet any more, unfortunately.  I did send a message out to all my clients, including many on here that have used me regularly and/or recently - apologies if I missed anyone.  I'll still be on the forum (mostly lurking) and haven't discounted making a comeback at some point, but I just don't know yet - all the balls are very much up in the air at present.

I decided to make the trek up to Grimsthorpe for the 2022 Festival of the Unexceptional in the Espero. It's a shame that I didn't know about the event when it was hosted in Northamptonshire or Buckinghamshire, either would have been a lot easier to get to! I think I did about 6 hours of driving that day, which was worth it for a one-time visit, but enough to turn me away from returning the following year.
I followed this lovely Allegro into the castle grounds, and was half delighted, half disappointed to find that my car was the only Daewoo in attendance.

The day wasn't without issue however, when the marshal handed me my rear view mirror hanger, they pointed out that my bonnet was popped! I suspect that this occurred soon after I left home, and I now have the utmost of respect for the secondary bonnet catch! I've checked over the primary catch and can't find anything wrong with it, so I suspect that I was just a bit gentle closing it after my pre-flight checks. It probably doesn't help that I've been following the manual's advice to push down on the bonnet rather than drop it. Because I'm paranoid, since then I've been closing the bonnet normally, then popping it, then pushing down on it again, just to be safe.
Regardless of the cause, this mishap is forever immortalised in these otherwise great photos taken just after the entry...

Princess has been collected by the transporter and is winging its way north to the new house.  It'll arrive at new house tomorrow morning so folks have plenty of time to amuse me by papping it on its journey north like they did on its journey south a few years ago.  Or not.  I'm not your Dad.

I've only experienced a column change on the '89 Trabbi that I owned. Although I appreciate that the cogs & dogs that I was shuffling around were very small, it was lighter than a featherlight thing and I made a point of shifting using just my little finger.

The nearside rear tyre on my Volvo turns 34 next month and is still going strong.

More a dash change, as it was a carry over from the 4/6.

Not sure at all and am happy to be corrected,  but my tyres are fucked way before they should be.

I don't think that any tyres are designed to last very long at all. The MOT stipulates 7 years max, and I've just replaced the set of four Hankooks that I put on my Rover 75 as soon as I bought it in July/August 2019. I suspect it's something to do with the fact that they are made of recyclable shit rather than the proper rubber and infinite-life hydrocarbons like they were in the good old days.
