Cats clapped out Cars. Wafting North
catsinthewelder replied to catsinthewelder's topic in AutoShite
Nobody here yet but that has given me a bit of time to engage in half hearted turd polishing. Various spare parts for this and the Dacia removed and a bit of cleaning has improved the interior. But the headliner is still knackered. Time for the exterior. -

The film I saw last night featured a Bajaj RE60 quite prominently. 216cc apparently https://www.cardekho.com/bajaj/re60 -
I was driving the van earlier and saw an Allegro so got the lad I was working with to get a shot. Then ended up parked right next to it at the petrol pumps. It's his pride and joy and has only done 18k. I managed not to say anything about the plates. Also saw this Riley

The P reg, 1.2 Clio I passed my test in was 5 speed and wasn't a fancy spec. I feel sorry for generations of South American motorists if the same 4 speed box survived until the end of VW type 2 production as it was the worst aspect of driving one.

If you want to swap your A40 for a Sherpa there's a lovely* one here.😇 -
The Vauxhall one I bought after a recommendation on here is exactly the same apart from being blue and having a GM sticker. Seems pretty good to be fair.

International asset management company doesn't sound like a positive future. On the other hand, bad things happening to Stagecoach are probably good news for the rest of the bus industry.

Thanks Ian Not worth buying bits then? -
Looks like a T25 pickup in front of the Traffic. Blue Peugeot 406 and black Corsa C? out back. There was a law down London way that dividing walls between houses had to be higher than the roof which led to some interesting roof shapes.

First some terrible photos from me. Datsun Bluebird, not seen a Datsun in the wild for years. Then 20 minutes later I saw this Sunny on the far side of a canal. Gorgeous Imp Miss C spotted earlier And a long range TR8 she saw.

I was surprised how long it's taken as until I did a quick research for this post I thought the new shape Renault Master in 2020 was a new model, but it turns out it's a facelift of the 2010 model. -

@RichardK Best bring the Spitfire then. Although I'd love to see the Tavria, best get this Rover gone so I can fix the Dacia. -

As a good few of you noticed, I put a For Sale thread up for the Rover and had a few folk interested. What was apparent was that it would make sense to get a few of us together and see if it would start/see if it would be worth fixing. Anyone up for coming round on Saturday 30th? South Shropshire, 10-4. PM for postcode. Tea and biscuits supplied. If people are coming I'll buy in parts. -

Only a matter of time really but saw my first Vauxhall Movano Mk3 this week. So Vauxhall's new van has been available from a French manufacturer for the last 15 years, where have we seen that before? -

What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

But the only way the government can divide people between the camps of 'competent mechanic' and fuckwit is by insisting people are trained to a certain standard. I've been on one of those courses and the other students didn't give me much confidence in the future of Herefordshires garages. Whereas there's loads of completely untrained people on here I'd happily trust to fix my car. -

Can you imagine trying to run an old car if we weren't allowed to work on them? -
@Zelandeth captures "The double Dave counterbalance".

Miss C saw this honey today I've been spotting this Volvo for years but now it's for sale so I won't be seeing it again (unless Daisy gets her way and I buy it). There's a phone number you can PM me for, I've not rung it as despite walking several miles to get the photo I must not buy it.
