The old taxi has finally come back on the road again after 6 months of winter storage.

Perfect* fit*. 

After my Mito was condemned due to rust, I decided to go old skool for its replacement - 50 mile drive home - goes spot on. Forgot the pez shot sorry 😎

Radio in the 205 had been acting up,so decided to replace it with this Top quality* two knob Harrier that I'd bought at a boot sale the last time I was in Norfolk for not very much.
It only works 😁


Looks period correct too.

Exo has been rescued from hibernation - took a little more effort to push out of the garage for some reason

i’d suspected this might happen so had the compressor with me, a quick check of the fluids and the engine fired first time  
a brief hoon was had but on the damp roads, the crappy chinese tyres really showed their true colours - they’ll be getting replaced asap

in the meantime i’ve refitted the steelies with semi slicks, they drive so much better than these ditchfinders 

i should have bought one of these years ago - what a cracking piece of kit ! and excellent value thanks to @DVee8’s trade card.
the lad in the shop had a chuckle when he saw i’d come to collect it in the mx5 but it fitted perfectly in the boot

weighed a fucking ton when i tried to lift it out ! 
also i took a short cut to avoid traffic and got the mazda a little bit dirty

good news is that it’s had its rear sill repaired and passed its mot   
(with the usual advisory for the exhaust !)

i’m sad to see it go but he was so excited when he came to collect it that i know it will be in good hands. 

which left an empty garage…

the standard steering wheel on an mx5 is about 350mm but i fitted a smaller 320mm sports! wheel. this is great but the indicators are obscured and i’ve had a couple of occasions recently when they haven’t self cancelled and i’ve not noticed  

some ingenuity was required

The night was spent in Kinross with several cans of Tennents and various deep fried items from the local chippy.
Today, we move into phase 2 and 3 of the mission. Phase 2 involves reverting to my day job and going to carry out an inspection on one of these…
…but that’s not until later today so we are currently doing touristy things in Arbroath.

The plan then is to head back to @The Moog‘s and pick up my trailer before dropping down to Glasgow and phase 3, a shite collection 🙂
