Wouldn't mind one of these. How much are they?
Think they were 15 quid - didn't pay much attention, sorry!

I've stayed in that holiday inn! Interesting area with the planes dive bombing overhead into London City Airport and Canning Tahhhn Underground just up the road, that place is a fucking maze...
Still no idea what is going on! 😂
I've been staying at that Holiday Inn since July 😂

Well, another three weeker in London done; another decent spell and very few problems, though my first shift (first run!) back saw another curtailment unlocked on the 462, at Hainault, The Lowe - also the terminus for the N8 which is an absolute fucking monster of a route.
Spent the majority of this trip on midibus routes; think I only did one shift on the 145 and two on the 62, the remainder of the trip split between 167s and 462s.
The trip was not entirely uneventful...
... with 36669 deciding it had enough on my penultimate shift, before dumping all of it's coolant over the engine on the Cranbrook Road in Ilford. 36657 did the honours as a replacement, unlocking another curtailment in the process; Barkingside, Fullwell Cross.
Final bus of the trip was 36663 on Friday evening.
A sad loss to report is of our last old shape Enviro 200, written off by a van in Chigwell. Due to it's age it was on it's last year on TFL work, so it won't see the road again; it went like stink and the heaters were volcanic. Genuinely quite sad about this one.
A handful of other shots to complete this report of stuff seen on the hop.

58-year old bus driver murdered in Elgin bus station last night by a 15-year old.
We've a few Elgin drivers down here in London. The mood in the hotel is quite sombre.
Rest easy driver, we'll take it from here.

One of each for me if at all possible?

Totally agree with @chancer on Glasgow being on it's arse; admittedly I'm on the buses, but my last shift before heading back to London was a Saturday backshift on the X19 (Govan - Easterhouse via the City) and my four round trips brought in a cash total of... £17.
The Friday backshift the night before was 3pm-1am on the X25 (Cumbernauld - City express). £40.10.
Disagree on bandit screens on my side anyway, on a bus they're more hassle than good; even Easterhouse at 11pm I drive with mine open.

I would surprise everyone who knows me now in 1995 by buying a Toyota Carina E estate, 2.0 petrol in as high a possible spec as could be done. They're still genuinely a favourite of mine... pity they didn't do the Carina E GTi as a wagon.
Today? Genuinely wouldn't even know where to start.

£10k would buy about the very best flat face Volvo 740GLE auto estate out there.
So that'd be it. Nothing needs modified or upgraded because it was perfect the day it rolled out the factory in Ghent, and anyone who says any different is a FILTHY FILTHY LIAR.
Or as above with an LS1 V8 swap, but not for performance, only for the improvement in fuel economy.

More importantly than all this shit, get this on and pretend everything is fine.
I have it on vinyl. It is my only vinyl record.

On 740s the carb fed 2.3s and all 2.0s were 5-speed manual, 2.3 injections, diesels and turbos were 4+OD.
Similar story on the autos, injected 2.3s, diesels and turbos were ZF 4HP22, the rest I think were all Aisin Warner (AW71 I think).
Earlier 940s shared the whole multitude of gearbox shenanigans but eventually settled down to M90 manual or AW auto.
Theres something like a dozen different braking systems too. Sensible* Swedes.
