  1. £5,000 for this Vauxhall Nova. Except this Vauxhall "No va" at present: needs an ECU. Looks like an SR
  2. Saab 99 brochure, including the turbo. What a lovely design this is. First car with headlamp wash wipe too apparently (1970).
  3. Big(ish) Fiats For The Win. I owned a 1990 Tempra 1.4 which was a basket case. Hope this Marea turns out to be easier to live with. (Just remembered I almost bought a W reg Marea 1.6 saloon in 2002 )
  4. My sister's first car was one of these. Same spec, registration letter, colour and even the lack of head restraints. This one's up for £3,500. Would look nicer with some Ghia spec chrome hubcaps and rim embellishers if any can be found. Escrot 1.3 GL
  5. Calibra . Bidding is currently at £1,020. Car is in Lowestoft. Calibra 2.0 ecotec
  6. My nomination is the Zanussi white 1994 Ford Escort 1.8 diesel L saloon I bought in April 2010. So good a car it was for £250 that I posted a thread about it here: Unsung hero: in praise of the Escort. This photo is shortly after I picked it up and removed the off white damaged Ford wheel trims:
  7. I spotted this MINI yesterday with mismatched wheel trims. Couldn't ascertain whether or not the trim on the front wheel is a genuine MINI one but it looks like a nice design.
  8. Kettle Series Rover requiring welding. Local Norfolk registered car too. Gr8!
  9. Nice Clio. I greater appreciate Renaults these days for their reputation of excellent ride comfort. My Hyundai reg also begins EO. Essex registration I believe.
  10. I imagine she would be shouting "WAN-KAHHHH!" at pedestrians.
  11. I think the Prarie was replaced by the Serena in 1995.
  12. 1950s Gaylord Gladiator (tee hee! ). A nice bit of engineering. I quite like the look of the original prototype (in the thumbnail) .
  13. My Sony Xperia 2 mobile keeps slipping around in my fingers whenever I try and take a photo. Could do with an upgrade with a leather case next time. Here is what I saw this morning on my way to the Post Office...
  14. I wonder if it was a top of the range "Prima" ? Most of that spec tended to be in default white although the one that used to be at a car museum (photo posted upthread I think) was red. I collected a lot of What Car? magazines during the 1980s and 90s. On the rare occasion that they featured a Polonez in a road test with other budget cars it would come last, with a 1 out of 5 verdict 'blob score'.
  15. "I'm the Leader of the gang, (Come on, Come on!)" Ah. I don't think anyone's supposed to be chanting that anymore.
  16. Not for the UK market iirc. FSO left the UK market in around 1995/96 as they couldn't compete against Hyundai and Proton. The 1.9 PSA diesel engine was available in it's last incarnation as the Caro.
  17. Sweet Georgia Brown! I wonder what that would perform like with a Fiat Twin Cam dropped under the bonnet? The facelifted Polonezssss looked alright to me. Just such a shame they were saddled to those early 1960s Fiat chassissss (chassi?) and criminally underdeveloped. Edited to add: When I was looking for my 2nd car purchase in early 1997 there was a white F reg Polonez Prima on a used car forecourt around the corner from where I was living. It was stickered up at £2,495. Given that you could purchase a tidy similar aged Golf, Astra, Escort or Tipo for similar money back then, let's just say that it wasn't a bargain.
  18. I recognise the block of flats in the background. Morrisons car park? I worked on the checkouts at that one between November 2010 and April 2012. Used to live at the top end of Carrow Road at that time . Liked living there. Good luck with the Ibiza. Hope it delivers many miles of economical motoring.
  19. Surveying the clutter in my spare bedroom. I wonder if this stuff that was sitting in my dad's shed is still any good after 30+ years?
  20. My late parents loved their early MG 1600. Huge fans of the Maestro. Had it for 5 years. I was 16 years old when they traded it in for a big Vauxhall. Had they kept it for an extra year of 2 I could have learned to drive in it. My sister's second car was a Maestro 1.6 Mayfair. Semi-luxurious!
  21. I think the lesson here is: if you want to sell a car invite the prospective buyer round to your address. No compromises. I wouldn't feel right viewing a car in a public area. Sorry you had your time wasted @Rocket88 What a crappy way to spend a Friday/weekend.
