  1. Monza was the coupé, Senator the saloon. Royale was both shapes.
  2. That’s a user setting on the video - you can choose whether or not to allow embedding. He may have turned it off inadvertently — I’ll drop him a message.
  3. The Royale had a 2.8 — the facelift ones had a choice of 2.5 or 3.0, by which time they were all Vauxhall Senators and the Royale badge was reserved for a burger with cheese. The 3.0E Opel probably was worth the extra, tbh, but to me the Royale was better looking with its chunky bumper overriders and neater rear end treatment (fnarr). The facelift ones are even more handsome of course. Have a couple of bonus pics of my Royale.
  4. My dear Herr Hairnet, I would never dream of trying to beat you up, and it does look quite a lot like a Bitter CD. I might just gently point out that it’s not a Daytona either — that’s a 365 GTC/4 A shiter’s Ferrari if ever there was one. Thanks for all the pics!
  5. I am…I used to be on here a lot but, well, times change. I still pop by from time to time to see what’s happening with my various old AS friends. Thanks for your kind words! I’m glad you liked the videos, they seem to be a rather niche taste for some reason but the regular viewers are a friendly bunch and the chat in the comments usually has a good vibe.
  6. It was great to see this at the NEC in all its, er, glory. You were busy when I stopped by but I had a good chat with your mate. Looking forward to following your progress. I do hope my Royale doesn’t look like this underneath. I don’t think it does, but it too has had some work done in the past so it might have its own “sorry” written under there somewhere.
  7. Awesome spottage. I’m still grinning at both of them — but especially the Granada.
  8. You’re right, I did. I found it in a barn in 2011; @Dermist owns it now and has almost finished restoring it.
  9. Safety Devices are the kings of roll cages. They don’t list the 600 (or its Accord sister) for an off the shelf kit, but they do bespoke as well so may be worth a call? I dare say there are cheaper options, mind. Might also be worth DMing Richard Brunning on Twitter, he’s bound to know someone who does cages well.
  10. Woaft. That was one of my favourites from the Restoration Show last year — a still from the video here: Will follow with interest. My Royale is developing a few bubbles here and there from past repairs. I’m not thinking about them.
  11. Wooomf, superb purchase. A 2000ie HPE is my ideal Beta. Would.
  12. Thanks Cats. PM duly responded, I just need to try and dig out a suitable quality artwork file. I believe whoever did the original mugs may have done some tweaking. My only request would be that if there’s a profit being made, it should go to the forum running costs fund 😊
  13. I'm just jealous full stop. Excellent work and such rapid progress!
  14. Ha! I would never say anything bad about Dr @Kiltox’s videos or even his shirts — I merely pointed out that I’d mistaken his actual cat’s actual arse for a BMW iX, which could happen to anybody.
  15. Just been catching up on this - hats off, lots of cracking work going on here. Great stuff.
  16. Just seen your post about Emma. So sorry to hear this Daniel - I only met her that once when we bought the Sierra, but she was completely charming and obviously a top mate for going along with our mad escapade. Hope you’re doing ok man.
  17. It was great to catch up with @Six-cylinder, @quicksilver, @Slowsilver and @Zelandeth - and there were some cracking cars. I was also beyond excited to meet Harris Mann. I’m a big fan and he’s a lovely bloke, we had a really good chat. Absolute privilege.
  18. I have one (which currently lives with @RobT) but it’s not for sale. As seen here at FOTU. Do you ever sell any of the parts or do you just collect them? In fact, are you the bloke we met and chatted to?
  19. Same. There was a whole load of people I ‘know’ from here and/or Twitter - including yourself - who I either didn’t see or walked straight past because we don’t know what each other looks like. What a world it is. Nice cars though.
  20. Woah, hang on, is that your Laurel @Spottedlaurel? I knew I recognised it but wasn’t sure where from - I’d have loved to have said hello but you were elsewhere at the time, and I suppose it would have been a weird “do we know each other?” conversation. Gorgeous car. Those seats…mmm.
  21. Can confirm that the Rover looks, smells and indeed tastes DELICIOUS. Great to meet you and Mrs RoadworkUK in person!
