  1. With the w211 out of the way, I am using the s124 for the school run. Today my new* stereo arrived, so I looked at the s124 this lunchtime. The speaker wires seem to be pretty decent, and there's new pioneer speakers in all the slots. However, the ISO connection leaves something to be desired. Whats the best / cheapest/ simplest solution to this? I guess I want an iso harness with some bullet connectors for the speakers and then figure out which of these two* wires are ground, live, ign and auto aerial? @philibusmo is this making you sweat, or a normal day at the office?
  2. Interestingly I was thinking of these this week, driving the 124 home it reminded me of driving my mates golf driver AND the similarities between all of these takara cars.
  3. Pictures for the collection thread @Fat_Pirate isn't doing
  4. At that price it's a bloody good job it's not a manual.
  5. Bloody brilliant cars, and I can well understand why Kia were proud of making them for Mazda and Ford and kept on with their own badges.
  6. Still, it could be worse weather for it.
  7. Should be fairly nippy with the 1.6?
  8. My blower fuse went the other day Is the plastic supposed to melt like this? I've never come across these kinds of fuse before
  9. I found the seats in a V special to be about the most comfortable seating position I've ever experienced
  10. I'd take no pleasure out of that Eddy 😣
  11. Stashed this out of the way this week. Renewal came through for the W211, which is funny* because I've just roffled it. £684 for the year. Meanwhile I've insured the S124 on the same terms for £290, and could get the 182 on the same terms again (business use for both drivers, 4k a year, parked in the street, Mrs L1's roundabout incident not quite 5 years ago) for another £306. I.e. it's cheaper to insure the S124 and the clio than it is the W211. MENTAL. Could also put the clio on a classic policy for £250 it seems, but then I can't use it for business use. FFfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff
  12. It was sold to @RetroShite who raffled it off iirc.
  13. My Ginetta G26 had an expansion tank made from a lucozade bottle. It worked until the coolant was hot enough to melt the bottle. Hopefully this will work better!
  14. Looks like I might need to go fetch this soon. I've been feeling the need for a long drive, to be fair, it's been ages.
  15. Not a Citroen then. An Mercedes Benz? Giz some clues!
  16. And home. 52 hours, 1280 miles driven between us in total, one beach, some hail, Sri Lankan food not far from GCHQ in Cheltenham, 21 poos and a dozen coffees. @320touring tells me it got 29.8mpg. Some fettling and cleaning required but I'm very pleased with it. Thanks so much @HMC for giving me second dibs and being so accommodating. Top shitist!
