We toured a couple of thousand miles around Northern France in the DS staying at 4 places, this one looked the best with the DS.

In my defence it was pitch black and raining and I was incredibly stressed. My axle stands don't fit under a BX even on the highest setting. And it was raining. And my drive is on a pretty steep incline. It was wedged at the back but I had nothing to hand to stick underneath at short notice.
 
Anyway, turns out simply raising the suspension on the disc is nowhere near as dramatic as it sounds. Trolley jack underneath, quickly chuck suspension into low to take the weight off and start pumping. Five minute job to get it back on all four wheels.

Good, that's fallen off the jack in the middle of the night. I'm going to enjoy sorting that out later. Excellent.

My BX just shed a tyre coming home from work, nearly at Brighton on the A23. My spare is on my driveway as I took it off to check it the other day and it's gone totally flat. .. so stupidly didn't put it back in the car.
 
AA won't help me unless it's at 'my own expense'...
 
Basically, I need a lift back to my house to rob a wheel off the other BX and then back out here to fit it.
 
My few local friends who can drive are all pissed or at Lewes watching the fireworks or both. I know it's a long shot, but can the AS massive offer any help?

Would it be missing the point to mention that it looks absolutely rubbish? I appreciate the work that has gone into it, but the proportions are way off. I guess he was limited by using existing Cortina panels and not sculpting it out of clay or whatever as per the original, but surely he noticed every panel is a totally different shape to a standard Mk1?

What a bloody nightmare! All sorted now though. Felt like a but of a twat with a car full of new tyres not yet fitted tbh. Also I don't recommend driving with two different size tyres on the front of a fwd car. The horror stories really are true!
