  1. It's not an IC, it's the Electraction EVR-1 prototype. I had a couple of brochures for it for sale but they must have sold - here's another one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/203918687446
  2. Blimey, there's another one in the background. Would make a nice set with this https://www.carandclassic.com/car/C1378714
  3. I have seen it, but always appreciate a heads-up on Pall matters. Alamy has a decent-quality version in its archive, which I'll have to buy a print of at some point
  4. Isn't vintage Action Man stuff mega valuable? I had a fair bit when I was a kid (must have been 10-15 years older than I was, picked up from boot sales) includint a motorcycle/sidecar combination. I can't remember what happened to any of it but I think I possibly sold it on when I was a teenager and even then was surprised by what it fetched. Trying to get my head round the scale of that truck - it must be absolutely massive!
  5. BMW replacement has arrived. It's.... shite More details will follow when I've driven it further than round the block
  6. How disgusting does this thing look? I would love to park this up outside the house which once reported my Allegro as an 'abandoned vehicle' Look at the mental gear-lever extension No V5 obviously, and apparently no inclination to open the doors. Also doesn't run. 'Offers' (I've got a few suggestions). Glorious road rubbish though and long may it live. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/5057158717732286/
  7. The Corgi Lancia has a side-opening bonnet, and later Whizzwheels versions had a black bonnet, but only available in orange or yellow. The Alfa had a front-hinged bonnet, and the Mebetoys model had this feature, but the Solido had a cast shut bonnet.
  8. The Speedback is also horrid. I remember looking carefully at the prototype a few years ago and it was real classic British kit car quality - rusty phillips head screws holding the tail lamps on, that sort of thing. Anyway, in better news. I am a bit obsessed with Peugeot's Roland Garros line. I can't think of any car which isn't improved by metallic green paint and a posh interior. I hate leather seats and I'd still love a leather-clad 106 or whatever. I recently discovered there was an 806 Roland Garros!!!! How amazing (and impractical for an MPV) does this look??
  9. That'd be Solido or Mebetoys, as recently discussed on the Shite in Miniature thread
  10. Julian only died a couple of months ago, sadly. Shame you didn't get to speak to him about his IC days. I think he faced a real uphil struggle against apathy from the wider microcar community which didn't see the importance or appeal of ICs. I don't think he had an IC or any involvement with them in recent years
  11. Just curious as to what 'shenanigans' these were! Reading old issues of Rumcar News and Toilet Blue the impression I get is that Julian was really pushing to get as many ICs saved as possible before they were all scrapped (I guess in 2002?) and that he helped liberate lots of older machines and get them into safe hands. Certainly the way he told it, and was widely reported at the time, was that all the Villiers-era stuff in store was destined to be scrapped as there was no longer any call for spares and they were trying to save as many as possible before that happened. I'd be curious to know what the other side of the story is (although also well aware that one shouldn't speak ill of the dead and that I'm sure several people on this forum were friends with Julian...)
  12. By chance I saw these on Fb yesterday. Surely worth a punt at £100, they're even the right-ish colour... https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/4994453317274744/
  13. Wonderful. I really hope that is 'restored' with the lightest possible touch to the cosmetics. There can't be many ICs of that era which have original paint, upholstery and hood intact and in such great condition. It would be a crime to paint/re-upholster that survivor.
  14. @bunglebus the nice Tatra truck is by KDN / Kaden, one of the big Czech toy companies. Moderately collectable I think. They also did nice 1:43 plastic Czech cars - And also obviously they did a range based on the Politoys 1:41 plastic cars (pre-M Series)
  15. I was really hoping for a straight swap for a Toyota Corona hard-top. Failing that, I'm just gonna let the auction run and see what happens. Seems to be a bit of interest already and it's cracked the £500 mark so I'll be happy with whatever the outcome is as that's all it owes me.
  16. Super low-compression, massive slow-revving American engine which was designed to run on dog piss?? It definitely doesn't 'need' super, or E5, or any of that nonsense. Glad to see this go to a new home, I did rather think Eddy might be stuck with it forever.
  17. BMW now on ebay if anyone's feeling stupid https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/275275560774
  18. Please buy my old shite: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/275275560774
  19. That's really helpful, thanks - the Pilen version is in fact another Dinky re-boot. The Joal version is identical to the Solido. I had assumed they were all one casting as I hadn't realised there even was a Dinky version! I will amend the list accordingly. The Pilen-Dinky tie-up is still a bit murky to me, but I believe that the Pilen factory built these last 'Spanish Dinkys' for sale in Europe. When Dinky collapsed, Pilen retained the tooling and continued making the cars under its name. Most of them were in the same colour schemes as the Dinky versions (as here) and at a glance are indistinguishable.
  20. Well, the clue is the location, right? It's a Kendal! Amazing find!! (otherwise it's a Dyna X, which is still quite a good find in RHD)
  21. I'd guess the Alfa Junior was a Solido, which came in gold Mebetoys also modelled this I'd like to find either of those. Or both. Never heard of a Pilen version but it might be the case
  22. For double-weirdness, fellow Spanish makers Nacoral Inter Cars (of melting tyres fame) decided to model the short-wheelbase two-seater AMX at the same time, which obviously I need to have. This is often listed as a 'Pilen copy' by people who obviously haven't noticed it depicts a totally different car... I don't know enough about that make to know if they made any other 'originals', but this is the only one I've ever seen. I had a spare 5 minutes so drew up this list of Pilen source cars. If anyone can add to the list I'd like to hear from you!
