Every time I come back to this thread, I regret selling my 172. I hope it's being looked after, @DialATune Let me know if you want to sell!

Finally got round to a brief update. As you may know, I bought the forum bike A3 from Leanycan, for Mrs S to drive. She liked it, but wasn't really feeling it, when conveniently* he messaged me to see if I wanted a deal in the roffle win Alfa.
We all love an Alfa at Sporty Towers, so a deal was done.

S, the Scene Whore has gone. Wasn't really getting any use from it, and seeing as I'd got the Audi, I didn't need it.
Posted on Caddy and Inca group on Facebook, and it sold same night for full asking. Result.
Last picture from fb advert.
Looks like my shite activity may slow even further soon. Insurance is due, and my trade renewal is now prohibitively expensive. Still awaiting a couple of quotes, but I can't see it coming down enough to be worthwhile.

So something popped up, and I thought it would be nice to own.
We now have the VAG trio of one VW (Bora), one Seat (Inca) and one Audi. The van will be up for sale soon, but I think I'll try it on Facebook Caddy page for maximum scene exposure!
Stress free delivery this morning, and now on the drive at SPORTY TOWERS whilst we decide who will have it. Me or Mrs. S.

Right, time to post a few more.
First off, a snap of the house I stayed in on a German exchange trip in 1984. Bonus VAG street furniture.
Next up, a trip to Southport in FATHA SPORTYS Oldsmobile Starfire, when the exchange student came to us.
And finally, for now, late 70s caravan holiday with FATHA SPORTYS Celeste.

I'd love to, space is the issue, there's no room at Outlaw_Towers , stritcly a one-in one-out policy in operation. Cheers for the offer!
Nothing you want to get rid of? I could make a generous * offer on something to facilitate a deal ??

Finally got some photos from mums. Not going to do them all at once, but I'll make a start.
First off, Ma Sportys first car. Mini Clubman auto. For some reason, my grandad had fitted a loud exhaust when my grandma owned it.
Next up, me with my first bike, RD80 LC. This was my 17th birthday.
Next, not one of our cars, but a picture taken of the hovercraft we were about to board in September 1976.
And finally for tonight, a picture of the car we boarded in. Fatha Sporty had the genius idea of making a roof rack to mount the trailer tent on, so we wouldn't have to pay extra on the hovercraft!

Looked at the Astra again today. The injectors are out, and I'd planned on refitting them today, However, when I've taken them out to clean, I've noticed tney have rubber seals on the shaft, that have obviously perished. My question id, can I use normal rubber O rings to replace these, or do I need to use "proper" parts. Obviously, I'm replacing the copper washers to seal the combustion chamber, but don't want to have to re-do the job if I get it wrong.
I know this might be a stupid question, but I'm pretty naïve when it comes to diesels.

Bit of camber on that near side front. Might want to back it off a touch.
Yeah, I know. Going to have it set when I get a chance.

She's tolerating it! She won't go out in it, but doesn't mind it now, especially seeing that it looks a bit more respectable now.

So after chopping the front springs and spoiling the ride, along with the ongoing gamble of them de-seating, I found done decent used coilovers on the Caddy group.on F*ceb**k.
Got round to fitting today. One top mount was stuck solid, so angry grinder came out to chop.
After which, I fitted the coilies, which was pretty straightforward.
And we now have lows. I'll just have to take my time over the speed bumps.

From a 147? Yeh that would be great!
Yes. Our old GT failed test on one Bush, so just put a full set on it. Kept them in case I bought another 147/156/GT.

Your silver one? What happened to it? No more Renault for me for as long as I live!
I sold it to @DialATune on here around October/November. I had four cars around, and needed to get a couple out of the way. Pretty much regretted it straight away! The ones I really wanted to keep were the ones that sold straight off!

The rear transverse arms are cheapies so the bushes are too soft.
I've got a set of four used arms here you can have if you like. Get them polybushed, then you can swap them straight over. Only in Westhoughton, so not too far.
Let me know, and I can dog them out.

Before. Flaky paint and scene whore bonnet wrap
After. Plain, flaky bonnet and covered flaky bumper.
Long story short, as I walked past it today, I wondered whether the bonnet would peel, as the sun had been shining on it, and it was quite warm. Started peeling, and it came off nice and clean. Then, I thought, "Why don't I wrap over the flaky bits of bumper with this lovely warm, pliable wrap?"
Well, it seems to have worked fairly well. It's a definite ten yarder, but I think it's improved.

You're had the Jag, buy the Z3
This. A million times over.
And if you don't like the Z3, sell it after lockdown and probably make a couple of quid.

Does it exist? 55mpg, reliable, not tedious?

Both valid points to be fair!
It's a bit dull, but could be made better. Tobe honest, though, you'd probably be pushed to get a constant 55mpg unless you drive like Miss Daisy, which sort of defeats the brief somewhat.
