  1. Apparently it's been bought as a spares car for a better one he has.
  2. Can’t wait to see this back on the road. One of my friends sent me a picture of an old car that has recently appeared on a front garden near him. There’s been a few old cars at that house over the years but mostly 70s stuff. Anyway it turned out to be an LD10. The reg has dropped off the system but was issued in Southampton around April 1948 so she’s quite an early one.
  3. I wonder how much it would have cost them to get it recovered, storage etc. Bear in mind they won’t get a penny out of Piers towards it, only the auction price for the car minus Copart fees.
  4. My Austin Hampshire is pretty massive on the roads yet gets bullied relentlessly by idiots in moderns every time I take it out. The amount of stupid overtakes and just abysmal driving in general it attracts has to be seen to be believed. It nearly got written off by some twat in an insignia overtaking me on my outside as I’m about to turn right on a NSL road. That was the very first time I took it out and it was only because I was on the ball and saw it barrelling up behind me at 60+ and thought “he’s not stopping” that I didn’t get killed. Because getting T-boned at that sort of speed in a car with no crumple zones, airbags or seatbelts I would have been. The rear indicators are small and feeble (although my road positioning meant anyone with half a brain would have realised what I was doing) so I’ve bought an LED indicator conversion kit which should hopefully make them a bit more obvious.
  5. It’s a London car. London effectively has its own microclimate, which is milder than everywhere else, especially oop north. The lack of road salt in the winters, and low annual mileages mean London cars are usually battered and have terrible paint, but rust doesn’t tend to be an issue.
  6. If he gets it back, he needs to put it in a friend’s name (plus give said friend a receipt for purchasing it, and keep a copy). Then the bailiffs won’t be able to touch it!
  7. It’s already battered to fuck and there’s nothing on it the copart twats would be interested in pinching.
  8. Looks like the damage down the passenger side is more recent than I thought, it looked in reasonable condition when the police seized it for no insurance last year.
  9. Hang fire on bidding on this deeply joyous vehicle chaps! Ive heard on the grapevine that Piers is currently the high bidder and is quite keen to get it back!
  10. Paging @warren t claim for his bailiff expertise.
  11. Maybe TfL requested they take it to stop Piers racking up yet more fines and not paying them?
  12. It’s a bit weird. There was no damage to the Cavalier in that accident and as far as I could see, hardly any damage to the van he reversed into. No keys is maybe a clue. Piers obviously didn’t want to hand them over which points towards the bailiff scenario. But why would a bailiff bother lifting such a worthless car against a £44k debt?
  13. As above, this famous/infamous Cavalier which until recently was emblazoned with anti-ULEZ slogans has popped up for sale at Copart Sandy. Current bid £250. I’m genuinely surprised to see it up for sale, I thought he’d be buried in it. It desperately needs saving if anyone fancies it! It’s a 1.8 petrol, manual and has mot until November. Why it’s ended up at Copart is anyone’s guess. The damage down the side is quite old and nothing to do with it. https://www.copart.co.uk/lot/51061633/clean-title-1995-vauxhall-cavalier-c-sandy
