  1. The temperature slider on my heater panel is quite stiff. I'd never really thought about trying to amend it, but maybe I do need to lubricate something (everything)  around the cable and heater valve. I wonder if the routing is quite poor and even when new it would have shown reluctance to move.

  2. I found the seats in the only Saab 9000 I've driven quite uncomfortable. I do have a slight back issue but still.  Probably drove about 500 miles in total, usually in roughly 1 hour spells. Just couldn't get them adjusted correctly.  The particular example had covered around 100k.

Secondly and perhaps not as controversial,  I think both the 7th generation Celica and the 3rd generation MR2 look rubbish. They may well drive excellently, but I'd never look back.

  3. We've probably had this before, but what is this garth driving at around 0.46; surely it can't be a Trevi?

Sorry not sorry.  Crazy Man is a top Prodigy tune.

There's a batch of 10, built in 2003 for a taxi company in Bermuda. The buyer had gone bust by the time they arrived there and after sitting at the docks for a few years they eventually found their way back to the UK and were registered on RK08 plates.

Thanks for that, quite an interesting story. Apologies if it's been brought up in this thread earlier.

Decided to invite my dad along to this in the end. Ferry Dublin to Holyhead for him, two hours to me in Crewe, spend the night, and then another two hours to the show the following morning.

Regular car ticket but something half interesting at least, a 180k mile Boxster S:

There's usually quite a few interesting things in the normal car park as you may expect and it's worth a look around. Plenty turn up in 'enthusiast' type cars.

Last year I had a 'normal' ticket but I was directed into the the display parking when at the ticket check, they give you hanging tag to put on your rear view mirror. The only entrance was for both tickets and perhaps I was took pity on. I imagine that happened to quite a few cars, however this year I believe there's going to be two entrances - one for 'normal' and one for display vehicles, probably for the best.

Sure thats not an ST24 rather than a V6 Ghia??? Also, whereabouts, if its local to you then its local to me😉

It's a Ghia if you believe a couple of registration check websites, despite the ST wheels. Yes, it's local to me/us.

As controversial as they were when new, 20 years on they are still feeling fairly contemporary and the interior really helps. And the original iDrive isn't as bad as people say once you get used to it either.

While I've little experience of any iDrive, I suspect a lot of the negativity was down to it being all new fangled tech. Compared to how some cars are wired up now I expect an old school iDrive would be quite welcomed.

  8. I've bought a ticket, just a 'normal' one although last year they let me park in the display area anyway.

£40 is very steep for just a car show, especially if on your own but for me it's worth it (or has been previously). I look at it as a morning or a few hours entertainment/interest that is not easily replicated. Compared to a gig or a sporting event it's not outlandish. No restrictions on taking food/drink in either.  I'll definitely have at least one person with me which helps, and is only around an hours drive away.

Obviously it could all backfire and they'd be left with not so many show cars, which would be rather disappointing. We'll see, maybe it will be my last year.

Had a blackcurrant S90, great car. Olden Days tech.

His is in that dark green many come in. Looked great the last time I saw it. It's his sensible car.

Best wishes/good luck to all those of you who are going. I shall be driving across the French countryside, avoiding autoroutes and hoping to see a few of the things at FOTU in their natural habitat.

I was a little disappointed to read further up the thread you wouldn't be attending. Obviously you have a decent excuse, we'll miss the Laurel as a natural gathering point!

I'm going again, not in my Lexus. Also got a friend to attend in his quite smart and not massively unexception V90 which he is 'displaying'. I know a few dismiss the event these days but I've been really looking forward to it.

I guess it's not particularly unexceptionable but I was surprised to see this SVX parked close to the moderns. Apparently a media/guest car. Also bonus super clean E39.

I suspect the E39 is also a 'media' car, I think it is Paul Garlick's, who used to be connected to Pistonheads and is probably somewhere else now after some time in the promo 'wilderness'.

That's one that used to be local to me which I'd spotted a few times. The perpetrator of the filler and paint is a bit of a local legend; I knew he sold it a year or so back; not a massive surprise to see it offered again.

  13. Welcome back, Greg! Still got the Integra?

Hi Jon.. Thanks! Never fully left but just haven't got the time any more; and possibly like yourself find MS more my kind of place when I do get that time. Obviously the Ebay thread still draws me back now and again..

Sadly the Integra went a couple of months back, decided I needed something more civilised as I'd been gradually using it more as a daily - It did still have a couple of the same R888s it had on when I came to your old place; they didn't even kill me when we had all the snow a couple of years back!
