Someone mentioned on here recently that they had come across some ex 'part work' models of various soviet vehicles in poundland.. I was in the Nuneaton branch today and was very pleased to find these.
They also had a few others, those vans that look a bit Renault 4ish, the one that look a bit like Transits and a couple of different GAZs IIRC.

I was working at Yugo dealer when they came out,I went on a one day introductory course on them. Must have been 1989.

Cost £275, spent about £75 on service items and a part-worn tyre so say £350.
In 12 months it's cost me an exhaust (£75) and a set of brake pads... I'd call that cheap motoring.

My dad, being the sort of old school bloke who would make something instead of buying it, made one of those screenwash heaters from copper pipe, all soldered up nice. I don't know if he ever fitted it, I remember it seemed to live permanently in the cubby hole between the front seats of his MK3 Sceptre.

The Cortina sailed* through it's MOT today, AND I had the moggy running for the first time since I bought it last August. True, it ran out of petrol after about 30 seconds and then wouldn't start again as the fuel pump had died (again), but it did run...
*Had advisories on low parking brake one side, front No. plate and lack of rear bumper end caps.
