What a head-messer. Certainly feel for you. Not easy at all, but I like your MGF idea very much. That's a great idea.

Nice find.
Today was wheelarch work. I treated the rust last week and let it cure for a few days.
I primered the other rear arch, but there was no escaping the hole on the lower edge.
So, I went and bought some wob and lobbed it on. Sadly I seemed to forget to take photos, but it looked pretty horrendous. I then used the worst paint brushes in the world to apply a top coat. Muttley found it hilarious.
Bit neater on the front wings as the rust wasn't so bad.
So, it's coming along. That's the get-through-winter bodge sorted. Depressingly, the interior still smells of dog. I think that might be my next challenge.

Oh shut up. I'm not going to be told which cars I'm allowed to enjoy. I've sold the Golf, bought something for half the price that I really enjoy and have actual money to play with.

Good grief! Astonishing collection. Not sure it's my dream collection, purely because I'd be terrified to drive them (which for me rather defeats the object of a car) but it's always nice to see truly timewarp stuff.

Well, to be honest, it's pretty hard to judge as projects don't seem to come up for sale that often - folk seem more interested in buying than restoring. I've seen some CCC folk ask silly money for projects, and they just act like they're not bothered that it hasn't sold yet as if someone someday will come along with the money. That's possible but I don't think yours is going to sell in a weekend. French cars outside the 'scenes' can be an arse to sell. As someone who once owned a 604 and lives not a million miles away from you can no doubt confirm.

The Ebay thread shouldn't be a sticky. It's position in the thread list is a barometer of what shape the forum is in. If it's too low, we all need to chip in to put it in its proper place.

My arms hurt, but all of the stickers remnants have now gone and everything apart from the roof has had a coat of polish.
Not sure what to do with the roof. It looks like this at the moment.
The tailgate had some really nasty stickiness on it. Took AGES to get it off, using every potion I had available. While polishing afterwards, I noticed that some half-job had painted the offside corner. It's clearly taken quite a bump there at some point. The paint match is not perfect, but you can't see it too badly.
About time we had an engine shot isn't it? Just below the air intake pipe, there's a panel that has to be removed to access the coil packs which must then be removed to access the spark plugs. Sounds quite a bit of faff.
I think they look good together.

And Rachel Riley surely? I'll probably have to wait until tomorrow night to catch-up.

Four-pots can be quick, but they never sound as good as a three-pot.

I do apologise.
The acceleration is fun isn't it? Especially when first gear engages. I do warn you though, too much of that and you get 16mpg...

In other news, I'm going to be working at a local garage from Monday. Thankfully for the customers, not as a mechanic. General dogsbody receptionist type. I've been practicing tying my hair up with a pencil and looking over my glasses in a sultry manner.

Ah yes. Because being a bit upset about the loss of minty cigarettes is a really good reason to join that bunch of racist idiots.
